Good basic home doorbell camera setup with an intuitive app
The ring doorbell plus is a good investment and will serve the needs of most homeowners.I have mine placed where a traditional doorbell would be placed. The flexible monitoring software allows you to set ranges of view to trigger an alert and set overall sensitivity. This allows you to avoid getting alerts for non-relevant behavior, and to turn up the sensitivity if you are concerned for some particular reason. The audio quality is good, the picture quality I would say is very good. I have been able to zoom in on stills from the videos with a relatively clear picture. When using the app, it is also easy to communicate via audio with someone who rings the doorbell. If you use a device like an Echo Dot, which I do, you can interface the Ring with the Echo Dot to have an alarm sound when someone rings it like a traditional doorbell.I'm pretty happy with this purchase.

Just What I Wanted
I am happy with this product. It works very well on an apartment door. However, the ring is loud where the device is mounted but it is not that loud in the apartment. I don't want the ring to be very loud in the hallway so I lowered it and have just purchased a RING Chime for inside, which I have not received yet. I also purchased an extra battery so I can put a battery in immediately when the one in the RING needs recharging. The video is good. If you have a poor wifi connection, though, you may not get food video. I can see the images in the video much clearer on my iPad; they are small on my iPhone (as expected).

See Everything with the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus
I’ve been using the Ring Battery Doorbell Plus (2023 release) for a few weeks, and it’s been a fantastic upgrade for my home security. The Head-to-Toe HD+ Video in 1536p gives a crystal-clear, wide view—66% taller than the older Ring Video Doorbell 2nd Gen—so I can see visitors and packages from top to bottom. The Color Night Vision is a game-changer, letting me spot details even in low light, like when the delivery guy drops off a package after dark. Setup was a breeze; I connected it to Wi-Fi through the Ring app and mounted it with the included tools in under 15 minutes, no hardwiring needed thanks to the Quick Release Battery Pack. The motion detection with customizable zones is super handy, alerting me to people or packages while ignoring passing cars after some tweaking in the app. The Two-Way Talk feature lets me chat with visitors or scare off porch pirates from my phone, and the Quick Replies are great for when I’m busy. With a Ring Home subscription, I get Package Alerts and video storage for up to 180 days, which is worth it for reviewing footage, though you can still use Live View and real-time alerts without it. Some users mention battery life varies (mine’s lasted about a month with moderate use), and occasional Wi-Fi drops can happen, but I’ve had no major issues. For anyone wanting a sharp, reliable video doorbell, this Ring model is a solid choice! Adjust motion settings and check Wi-Fi strength for best performance.

Happy with product, does connect to existing wiring for doorbell if you have it.
Good product overall. It was a bit unclear, but you can connect the battery Ring to your existing doorbell electric wiring and it will provide power to keep the battery charged as well as trigger your house ringer if you have one for where you live. The image quality is very good, especially when it goes into night mood which I didn't know it would do. You need a wifi to connect the Ring to and a subscription to record/save videos. If you don't have a subscription, you can still use the live features, just not all the fancy bells and whistles. There are tiers to the subscription so you can select what works best for you. All in all, I am happy with the product. Very easy to install.

Does still use a battery when hardwired but it's better
I recently upgraded my Ring Doorbell from a previous version. I DO like the greater field of view (head-to-toe) that comes with this one. However, the "package detection" leaves a little to be desired. There are a few times I've had a package sitting clearly in my camera's range, but it did not detect it.We recently had some electrical work done at the house, and I wanted to hardwire my Ring doorbell, thinking that I would no longer need a battery. Please note that this still uses a battery, and in the beginning, I wasn't seeing any difference in battery drainage. Within a few days, the battery had drained to near 80%. Ugh. I was tired of replacing the battery in this. UPDATE: We've had this Ring Doorbell for almost a month now, and I just checked the battery status. It is back up to 90%, so while it does use a battery, the hardwiring must somehow charge the battery, keeping it from draining as quickly. The real test will come this winter. However, battery draining is effected based on your settings and how often you access the camera.Of note, though, for those wanting to hardwire it...The reason I couldn't get my original Ring camera to ring the house doorbell was because the Ring doorbell requires a higher "amperage" (for lack of a better word) than a standard doorbell. Our electrician installed an upgraded doorbell transformer, and now it works. (Just don't forget to change that setting in your app to ring your home system.) Mine is set up to ring the house doorbell AND my plug-in Ring chime, which we have upstairs.
