What is wrong with people.

I found a video on YouTube.Took me 4 attempts to work out how to do it. The trick is to straighten the filament so the bit in small end slide's straight into the plasticky block. And do it quickly so it cuts off the surplus melted filament. As you can see by the photo black to blue filament. You also need to run the filament thru the block a few times until it runs smoothly.Fiddliest bit is holding the block the filament and the lighter. But once you work out how to do that. It's easy!

Not really worth the effort.

These are hard to use, are only good for helping to weld filament a bit.. to make a poor quality spool from waste etc

Mixed Results, Limited Use

The 3Dman Filament Welder Connector left me with mixed feelings. While the concept seemed promising, I struggled to use it effectively for repairing broken filaments.Challenging Operation: Despite its seemingly simple design, I found it difficult to utilize the connector as intended. This may indicate a learning curve or usability issue.Potential User Error: It's possible that my difficulties stemmed from user error, as I may not have fully understood how to properly operate the device.Limited Success: Unfortunately, my attempts to repair broken filaments were largely unsuccessful, leading to frustration and disappointment.Overall, while the 3Dman Filament Welder Connector has potential, my experience with it was underwhelming. It may require further refinement or clearer instructions to be truly effective.

Useless for trying to join filament

I tried for over 2 hours lots of different methods to join 2 lengths of the same silk pla. I tried with a lighter, a solder station precision heat gun and a clean temperature controlled soldering iron with a flat blade. I got mixed results. Some bonds looked good, then as I tried to clean them up with a sharp Stanley blade and fine sand paper, the joints would just fail. It was a total waste of time any money. I later found out that my printer (Bambu x1 carbon) just pauses the print, let’s you feed in more, press extrude a couple of times and then resume print without any issues
