Long Lasting and Powerful
This garden mini hedge trimmer is simply awesome. I used it for over an hour to do our whole garden, trimming a Pyrocantha, various stemmed plants like Chrysanthanum, an apple and pear tree and then 2 hedges, 1 of which was bulging out a lot onto the garden path. The anti-blocking kicked in on some thicker stems, really small twigs/branches up to 10mm, and worked great cutting cleanly them. Smaller stems and twigs were cut instantly. The unit itself makes very little noise and is very light for 1-handed (either hand is ok) use. I bought it more for my elderly father to use as the AHS48/52 are 2-handed and slightly more cumbersome to operate. Also used it upside down to trim away the tops of the hedges, worked great.Really impressed by how much better and easier this is to use than my old pair of secateurs. Easy to clean and use WD40 on the blade. The blade guard is great as well to protect the blade. The box is very nice to keep the machine free from dirt and dust and store the various bits and bobs. Another quality tool by Bosch, love it.

Small but effective
This is a good product at a reasonable price. The battery is surprising in that it lasts for a long time and provides plenty of power. The tool will handle larger material than I thought and is very light and easy to use one handed.

Surprisingly good!
Surprisingly good! I use a mains hedge trimmer to do most of our large hedge, its fine for the heavy work but a pain for the other side of the hedge (which is a long walk away), what with the cables having to be thrown over the hedge at intervals as I work my way along - meaning that it becomes a 2-person job that requires nice weather.Provided the hedge is kept under reasonable control, this decimates that job without too much difficulty. I thought at first it was a 1 or 2-star product, it seemed a bit underpowered and not really up to the job, however I was working on the hedge in February and discovered what I call "munch mode". Most of the time it just whirrs away, skimming off the scraggy growth similar to the new growth on privet, and doing pretty well. I finally offered it up to a decent size smallish branch and it stopped dead, but then suddenly began "munching" away at the branch. I'd not given it the chance to "think" until then, normally just going "tsk" and then breaking the branchlet by hand. Waiting just a second or two longer, and I'd have discovered munch mode and been a lot more optimistic. It might seem a bit "sad" to be enthusing about something this mundane, but turning a 2-person job into something I can do for myself, not running the risk of shortening a trailing mains lead with a nice orange flash, and being able to nip out when the month's supply of sun suddenly arrives and you have 10 minutes to get the job done - all make it surprisingly good!I could give it 4 stars for not being a chainsaw, I suppose, but that would be churlish.

Great little trimmer.
I totally love this bit of garden equipment. I was sceptical at first but it is brilliant on my beech hedge and gets through much thicker stuff than I thought it would. Great for rough cuts before using shears on topiary too. I also used it very effectively to give borders the "Chelsea Chop" and cut back over grown plants. Lightweight easy to use and not very noisy. I have not yet run out of battery and it charges quickly. Best thing since sliced bread and you could probably use it for that too!

Not as powerful as hoped, but good within limits

excellent mini power hedge trimmer
Very impressed with this handy sized cordless shrub shear trimmer. Easy to use with safety switch, which once pushed(tricky enough to do) it stays on while handle power button pressed. Able to switch hands easily and so light in weight, so easy to cut. Battery lasted two full hedges 30 metres long just the front face, plus part of the top. But didn’t run it until battery was flat, so may have lasted longer! The blade is so sharp it cuts right through even the thicker parts of the hedge. It’s a slow blade speed, but that’s fine and just meant for trimming. Will be interesting to see how long the blade remains sharp. But replacements should be easy to obtain.

Let down by incomprehensible trigger design.
This model has the trigger on top instead of underneath the handle as in the smaller model. You have to slide and hold the trigger against a strong spring action whilst cutting which I find very awkward when trimming our large box plants. It is almost unusable for any length of time before your finger gives up!
