Q: Will this fit on my current standard back box?

The screw holes are a standard distance apart. The switch needs a 25mm deep 'back box' (one suitable for a 13A power socket)

No. There is no fuse. It is a well made 32 amp double pole switch

Q: Has anyone used a timer box with this switch to turn it on and off at set times

Yes this is possible to do, but it rather depends on the load being switched. First, is it safe to allow the load to be turned on, possibly when you are away from home or even when you are in bed? Obviously the circumstances need to be carefully considered. I would suggest that the timer is wired in-circuit after this isolating switch (between the switch and the load). It is not easy to find a timer unit (or timer in a box) that is able to switch up to 32 Amperes, which should be the circuit maximum. Again, I am assuming that the overload protection is by way of a device at the fuse box (Consumer Service Unit) as there is no overload protection provided by the MK K5105WHI device and as no fuse is used, then the entire circuit and the load is only protected by the fuse board (CSU) device, which may also include Residual Current protection by an RCD. (Depends on your CSU configuration). Back to the procurement of a suitable timer device…. You may need to fit a metal box enclosure, with a conventional timer and a 32 Ampere or greater relay / contactor with a 230-250 volt coil. Then the timer will power the relay coil and the relay contacts can switch the load. This may all sound a bit technical, and if you do not fully understand what has been said, I would strongly suggest you contact and approved and registered electrician for advice. If you would like to be a bit more specific with your intentions, I may be able to explain what is required and make it a little more easier for you. I hope this adequately answers your enquiry. No. The MK item you are suggesting is not a switch fuse but a good quality “switch” only. There is no fuse in this device, so the circuit comprising three cables (whatever and wherever it goes) would not be fuse and hence overload protected.

Does What You Would Expect a Switch to Do.

Not much to say really. I have one for my induction hob and one for my oven. It switches them on and off!They do look smart though and they meet all the regs so they keep my sparks happy.

Works as it should

Works as it should. Shame you can't seem to get these with a wago type connection. The screws always seem to be the weak point. Can find them in sockets but no other socket types.
