Hi, the minimum height requirement for the cabinet is 27 inches, you can place a mixer from 17 to 18 inches, install it according to the size, and the mixer will not hit the top.

Q: Can this be mounted in a cabinet with a drawer above it?

Not exactly. If mounted into a cabinet with a drawer above it, the appliance will only come to the level of the bottom of the drawer. If you must use a cabinet with a drawer face, you can flip the face frame, mounting the drawer on the bottom. This would allow the lift to bring the appliance to counter height.
