The pump is much more powerful than the old filter and keeps the pool nice and free of debris and gunk
I bought this item a few months back to replace a smaller filter that came with the 10ft frame pool but those filters were hard to come by. I use it in tandem with a Bestway pool heater. The pump is much more powerful than the old filter and keeps the pool nice and free of debris and gunk. I have a few filter cartridges that I rotate every day. I jet wash the old cartridge and soak over night in disinfectant and they come up like new. I use a floater as well. The item came with a UK plug unlike the Bestway heater I bought at the same time so happy about that. The only downside was the inlet and outlet caps were very large and would not fit into the pools connection points. Luckily I still had the old caps so used those instead. I wasn't happy with the plastic jubilee clips that fasten the pipes to the pool so I replaced those with metal ones. The pipes match perfectly to the pool inlets and the Bestway pool heater. The pump works well with the heater and I believe that without such a large pump the heater would not work as well recycling the water fast enough to heat it so quickly. The unit hums a little but you can't hear it from about 15ft. An audible beep lets you know its been switched on. I always then check the unit to ensure its not pumping air which is evident by the sound of grinding. I release the pressure screw on the unit lid until the water starts to leak out. Sometimes this is not enough so with the heater off I leave the unit on and cup my hand over the outlet to force the pressure back into the system until the water leaks from the top and the unit noise is back to normal. Make sure if you have a heater i the system it is off as it doesn't like this method and beeps a lot.I don't have an electrical socket near the pool but I am using a good extension real that has been waterproofed in a box and I have no issue running the pump and the heater off of it.

Excellent - and I managed to use it on an in-ground pool
I bought one of these four years ago and it's just failed - switched it on for the start of the season and the rotor failed to go round. Further investigation suggests the bearing has failed and the rotor (visible under the filter) is catching. Nevertheless, it has been left running each year throughout the summer months, and has done a very good job of keeping the water clean, so I've bought another one and the pool is up and running again for little expense, so I'm not complaining. The first one actually always made a bit of a rattle, so it may have had a faulty bearing from the start as the new one is almost silent. My installation is a bit unconventional, and my interest others thinking of an in-ground pool, as I have a ten foot long, two foot deep, glass-fibre pond liner set in the ground that I use for cooling off and paddling in with the kids. I dug out a small underground area at the end of the pool, and lined it with concrete blocks, to get the pump to the right level as it is not intended for operation above the water level and cannot self-prime. To minimise the chance of the chamber flooding I dug extra deep and constructed a soakaway in the bottom with rubble that lets any leakage drain away into the sandy soil. A loose slab over the top forms the lid, and the mains cable is fed through buried plastic water pipe for safety. This has worked well, giving me a neat permanent pool, though if you do this you need to be fairly sure that the pump chamber is not going to flood as, although the pump electrics are pretty well sealed they are not designed to be immersed in water. The plastic flexible hoses supplied do not always seal to the pump without leaking, even though they fit snugly over O-rings which might be expected to seal well. The problem is that the 'Jubilee' clips tend to compress the hose ends unevenly, so avoid overtightening as this can cause leakage. Adding silicone rubber or the like would cure any leak, but I didn't find this necessary with careful tightening. Highly recommended as a solution for those like me who want a small filtered pool, without the maintenance problems of an actual swimming pool.My second pump failed to start after the winter, just hummed. I turned it off, raised it and let the water drain out and then poked the impeller with a long screwdriver to move it round a few clicks (it jumps between stable positions). Then I turned it on, and when I saw it spinning I lowered it to let it fill again. A useful trick - guess it got stuck, as it has carried on working fine, and quietly, since.

Very good pump
Does exactly what’s its supposed to on our 10 ft pool. Not to noisy either. Can be a bit of a pain to prime sometimes but just a minute to sort it. Pity these things are so expensive. Small tip- remove the filter and clean/rinse it regularly to prolong filter life. I clean mine once a week and it’s still like new after 2 months of using the pump practically daily due to our glorious summer 👍😎

Easy to fit and is effective
Easy to set up. The pump has been working for several days now, and appears to keep the water clear.

Great. Does what it is supposed to do
Great. Does what it is supposed to do. Easy to set up etc. Would have like an easy release option so it would be moved when not required. Brought this to pump through the solar heater which is great. Don't think it really clears the water though, but definitively circulates it well.

Dodgy
Have had this for a couple of months now and use every other day but of late it is not filtering properly and not pumping the water back into the pool. It's like the filter cartridge prevents the flow of the water as if you take it out it works fine but put it in it stops! Seems fault, am going to look into a replacement

Intex Pool Pump for 3metre pool
We had to replace a pump that was too small for a 3 metre pool and this one does the job.Easy to set up and just about powerful enough for our 3metre pool to keep it nice and clear. Also very quiet too. Don't buy a less powerful pump for this size pool.

Good product
The product is very good but a suggestion would be to make the hoses with a compound that sinks as I use it for my spa / jacuzzi as a added filter system but as the hoses are made of plastic it isnt easy to keep the lines sunk
