A Vocalists Must-Have!
I was a pro traveling vocalist for over 20 years, rock & metal. I still sing every single day, no matter what. In fact I've only missed at most maybe a dozen days since 2001. Not a typo. Many years back I built a full-fledged, full-sized soundproof vocal booth to sing in, but since moving to California in 2004 it's been a challenge to sing full out without bothering or disturbing family or neighbors. This device has almost magically changed that. Simply put, it does what it claims to do, which is reduce the volume of loud singing, significantly. What's especially cool is that I use this device not as shown in the photo above with the female model, with the narrow end beneath the chin, but *upside down*, wearing it like, say, an oxygen mask, with the narrow part fully covering my nose, & the wide end under my chin. What happens when used this way is it still dampens volume exactly the same, but it now takes more breath power as the expelled air travels through the small apertures of the holding cylinder, effectively creating a wonderful *lung strengthener* as you sing. I've used a device meant to strengthen the lungs before, this delivers exactly the same thing. I love it. If it breaks, I'll buy two more to make sure I always have a backup.Highly recommended to serious vocalists and singers. 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Must buy for vocal warm ups Or training your vocals.
This device is a amazing! You know when your singing or trying to hit them high notes or certain notes and your throat hurts or mouth feels dry. This mouth gadget fix it all! This is a very good product for practice and vocal warm ups. It does smell weird when you get it and look at the picture of how they use it. Im talking about i can sing anything now! you're not suppose to record yourself while using this product. (I mean you can but you'll sound muffled.) It's good for vocal warm ups. Easy to set up and thick product. Ehhh the price is okay.

A MUST-HAVE for singers!
My partner and I are both musicians. We do both clean and harsh vocals (for the uninitiated that basically means "regular singing" and "metal screams"), and we are trying to figure out an option for practice space outside the home. In the meantime, we still gotta practice! My partner in particular is LOUD and reaches these insane soaring high notes that last forever... much to the chagrin of our neighbors, as I'm sure you can imagine. It was only a matter of time before we got a noise complaint, and we wanted to avoid that.DIY soundproofing wasn't cutting it, especially when the options we've found so far were neither cheap nor tenant-friendly. I found this product and was skeptical, but willing to try it. The great news is, we can practice at home without holding back or worrying now!We live in a 70+ y/o home with original windows, so if my partner is singing, it's loud from outside too. But if they belt into the "scream tube" and I step outside, I can still hear it, but quiet and muffled. Our street gets noisy enough to where it may even get lost completely among the sounds of idling trucks and kids at play. The sound reduction is really incredible. I'm guessing for people who live in more modern, soundproofed buildings, this could go even further. There's not much to it really. Just make sure it's sealed against your face, and wash that part so it doesn't get gross. It doesn't absorb 100% of sound obviously... there's a chance your neighbors or housemates will still hear you... but the reduction is truly significant. It's an indispensable tool if you're a singer stuck in a shared home or apartment building but don't have anywhere else to practice.I also really get a kick out of the concept of a "scream tube." Even the phrase is funny. But hey, it works!

It's not appropriate to sing, but express your stress
If you use this, your throat will be sore. But it will break your stress, too. It reduced the noise more than I expected. Use it in your apartment when you're angry and want to scream.

Amazing sound diffusor
I read the reviews and decided to get one and try it out for myself and I have to say that of all the various singing products I've tried this one is the best that I've purchased. Most of the products out there are a waste of money. I've bought breathing devices, singing straws, etc. and nothing compares to the value that this one brings. The Vocal Dampener drastically reduces the volume of your singing so that if you live in a place where your neighbors can hear you singing, this will help you a lot. I read some of the reviews that it doesn't dampen enough, that you can still hear some sound. Yes you can hear a little sound, but not even close enough to bother your neighbors. It's about a 20 db reduction, which is huge, especially of you have a powerful voice. However, If you buy this and your neighbors can still hear you it's likely not the dampeners fault, it's probably that your walls are simply too thin. If you're a singer you need to be able to practice while the same mouth shape and muscular 'balance'. that you use when singing. This dampener allows you to do that because it's large and fits around your mouth comfortably, allowing you to make large and exaggerated mouth shapes or small mouth shapes. It also provides a little back pressure, just enough to be helpful for singing. The only other method that comes close to this is to use a heavy pillow to dampen your sound, but this is not a good idea. Your brain and ears need at some auditory feedback when you sing so that you can both hear how you sound and also feel the feelings you need to make sure you're singing the way you want to. A pillow does not provide this. This device does. I'm very happy i bought this and will be using it all the time.

Not for Anger- also smells bad
I searched for "scream stick" because I wanted the ability to SCREAM without scaring the neighbors, and this came up.Thing is, by the time you: open the bag, take it out of the bag, and assemble the pieces- you're no longer in the mood to scream.Also- IT SMELLS UNPLEASANT. For something that you are putting up on your face, a BAD SMELL is not a good idea.
