Not a bad switch. The wiring is wrong. Using the colors for what they say it should be black,red, yellow from the indicator light side down.

Added switch for new bed/cargo light in my son's Leer shell. Put one switch in the bed near the tailgate and one in the front. No problem

Switches are wired wrong from the factory. Just gently remove all of the wires and put them back on in this order: There is one plug that is different probably brass or copper looking. Black goes there, next to it goes red and the last one is yellow. Red and black go to the power source (battery, whatever). Yellow goes to whatever your powering along with black as well. Black is negative and red and yellow are positive. Other than the learning curve they are good switches and easy to install in the same size hole as a cigarette lighter hole so pretty universal. These are not high end switches so don't expect them to be.

Do not use in any type of situation were the switch will get the slightest bit wet. I went through three of this five pack in three outings in my kayak. They absolutely corroded out and completely stopped working after one trip of a couple hours. These were installed in a location that doesn't see anything more than a little splash here and there.I almost forgot to mention that the prewire on the switch is completely wrong if you go by there diagram they give you on the purchase page. If you choose to buy this item I wish you luck..

Switch looks great. Unfortunately it’s pre-wired incorrectly. Please make sure to double check took me a couple times to confirm.

Great value and easy installation however the ground is wired to the wrong prong so use a multi meter and test what prong is switched before connecting the ground otherwise you will blow your fuse or fry your battery if unfused.

Using for a battery box project. Does exactly what I want it to do. Only curious how well it will hold up inside the hull of the yak.

First, I've got 4 switches instead of 5. That wouldn't be a problem as I needed only two. The real problem (as stated in other comments) is that the led switch is mounted upside-down. I've blown a fuse and, tested with a multimeter, it beeps touching the BLACK and YELLOW wires (instead of RED and BLACK as shown in the picture) when the switch is in the OFF position. So, RED is actually ground, which means I've short-circuited the cables and blown the fuse as soon as I've powered it on.I've sent it back and, since there are already 2 other reviews mentioning this issue, I won't buy it again.

Nur 1 Schalter funktioniert. 2 ohne Funktion, 2 mit innerem Kurzschluss. Eine Frechheit, so etwas anzubieten.

As a number of people have mentioned (I should have read reviews first) the wires are incorrect. The RED cable is negative. Wasted a couple of hours checking and rechecking all my connections and untill I knew it had to be the switch at fault! Thankfully didn't blow any fuses, other than my own for all the time wasted checking and rewiring. The actual switch does go blue when turned on and does feel okay when switching on and off.

Test before install!!!
