Could be new favorite controller, 5 modes, really small - its great
So far very impressed. First impressions; it’s really small compared to previous Gledopto controllers, but it was rated sufficiently for the strips I wanted it control. I needed a CW/WW controller and this thing does numerous modes at a cheap price.I use Zigbee2MQTT (with HomeAssistant downstream) and a Sonoff Zigbee3 stick. Popped the software into pairing mode, plugged this in and a couple of seconds later it appeared. Then proceeded to change the mode (from RGBCCT to CW/WW by cycling through the opt button until the appropriate color was shown – check the ) and a couple of seconds later Z2M reported the device was now identifying as a GL-C-006P (the white controller from the previous value of GL-C-008P). Awesome.I did notice there was a whine from the device, wasn’t a problem where it was situated but annoying nonetheless. However, you can also adjust the frequency on this to match the power source. A couple of button presses later having tried a couple of frequencies hit on the matching one and the whine (or buzz) was gone…brilliant. Checked back in Z2M and the device had nested down nicely in my Zigbee mesh forming great router links to numerous devices.I haven’t run it long enough to comment on reliability, running numerous Gledopto controllers without issues & I’m hopefully this will be just as good, but will update the review if I find otherwise. It’s replacing a LIGHTEU, Milight MiBoxer device which I’ve run for 2 weeks and am decommissioning due to it not responding 100% of the time to messages sent to it.Other plus points, comes with a push down tool to make inserting the wires a piece of cake (note, you do need to push them in deep to make a good connection) and also a 5.5x2.1mm female adapter with exposed ends to plug into the power – just hook up your power supply to this and, well it all just works!!

“Pro” versions. Works with Hue
Works well with Hue with similar performance to the GLEDOPTO Pro range but at a better price. None of the problems that I’ve experienced with their non-Pro controllers. The only problem I found is that connectors stop gripping well after removing a wire for the first time although the electrical connection remains sound. The connectors in the older controllers were more reliable.

Annoying whine
This works well, easy to switch between modes and only a small amount of faffing with ZigBee2mqtt to get it to recognize the mode it was in.Mine does have a very annoying whine when it is dimming at any brightness other than 100%. The PWM frequencies go from 1000-6000Hz so it is noticable regardless, just changes pitch.Im using it in a hallway so not a problem, but really would be annoying in a bedroom or other quiet room.Might just be my unit as I only have 1 data point.

Hue compatibility is very good
As a professional lighting engineer, I can confirm this product is very good. The mode selection even changes the behaviour in the Philips Hue app, unlike other Zigbee products I've used.Very impressed.

Done the job but with a little buzzy noise
Done the job but with a little buzzy capacitor noise while the LED is switching off. It is fully compatible with inner RGBW LED strip just the colour generated is not accurate especially with yellow at low power.

Tradfri and Homekit Integration
I am using Apple's HomeKit for my lights and sensors. My lights are mostly from Ikea with the Tradfri gateway bridging to the Apple HomeKit.I was looking for a an easy way to integrate some cheap LEDs and stumbled upon this Zigbee RGB controller. Given that Ikea relies on the Zigbee light link protocol, I thought I see if I can integrate it with Ikea's Homesmart App. And indeed, it worked right away. The Homesmart App recognised it immediately after turning it off/on six times as a light bulb with multi-colour capability. So far so good. It shows up in Smarthome App and I can control it completely natively. However, it does not yet show up in HomeKit. Further work needs to be done.

Does not support 5x separate dimmers
When set to dimmer mode, all 5 channels act as one, they cannot be controlled separately. Disappointed by this, it could have been amazing but it's not.

works with philips hue
very small, I used with a single color COB led strip with wires into the first two outputs. has a nice soft start to powering up the lights. Also worth noting that this works fine with philips hue - something im surprised they dont make more of a deal of! Add it to your hue setup by first searching for new light in the app, then powering on the controller.
