The Alphabet Thief

The book was exactly what I wanted. It is a very sturdy edition, which should last a long time. It was a good price, came in a reasonable amount of time, and my young granddaughter really enjoys learning what a word can become when you take away just one letter. Very happy with this purchase.

A fun book for the intermediate reader.The change in the words as a letter is stolen is very creative, but often the chnage is too advanced for the beginning reader.Perhaps best for ages 6 and up, including adults.

My granddaughter just got this book and absolutely loves it. She took it to school yesterday and her teacher read it to the class. Today she is taking it with her to a sleepover with her cousin! I bought this after reading a review in WSJ by their children's book reviewer. She is always spot on.

Delightful! Took turns reading each page around the table when out to lunch with friends. Great way to integrate the younger kids with the grown-ups.

Great book

My 1st grader and I have been steadily working our way through "best of 2017" picture book lists. Since she's getting close to the upper range, there's a lot of texts that are great art, but not much more. Then there are good books that we're happy we got to read (from the library). Then there's this book. We've worked our way through 42 books so far and this is the best. So now I'm here to buy it...well two. I'm getting one as a gift for the teacher. It's that perfect.

Real fun with words for kids and adults. Read the book with a little ELL girl who's 8 and she loved it. All sorts of word games can happen after the child reads what happens so as well as the initial enjoyment, there's awareness and interest in language. Couldn't recommend it higher!
