This is by far the best quality starter set I have come across the picks are polished with no sharp edges and there is a great selection of profiles also the selection of tensioners are brilliant too tok and bok I brought this for my son as I'm an experienced Picker and couldn't believe the quality! Great work Mr dangerfield!!

The package arrived very quickly. I thought the book was missing and so contacted the seller. They replied promptly saying it's just a PDF file that they email to you, so the photos that depict a physical book are misleading. Not a huge issue as a PDF file is more convenient for me anyway. The toolkit seems comprehensive. The tools seem easy to handle and the transparent locks are fairly easy to solve, ideal for a beginner kit.

This is a great gift. It has everything you need to get started with lock picking, and it is a good price.

This kid comes with plenty of tools that have enabled me to learn a new skill! I never thought I wanted to know how to pick locks before I saw this kit.It comes with a padlock and a barrel lock that have a clear exterior so you can see more clearly what you are doing with the picks. The kit comes with plenty of differently-shaped picks as well as a few tension rods to use while picking. A nice quality carry case is included for you to put your picks and tension rods.As well as the main picks that are higher quality and have rubber grips, there is a dummy credit card sleeve that can be opened to reveal more picking tools. This can be carried in a wallet/bag without taking up much space.The instruction booklet that comes in this kit is plentiful and contains step-by-step instructions on how to pick each pin of both the padlock and the barrel lock.Overall this kit is great for someone like me who had no experience picking locks that wanted to learn a new skill!

I'm very new to lock picking but having seen a lot of YouTube channels and countless videos I thought that I would get a beginners lock picking kit to try out and see how I get on. Many have said that lock picking is both good exercise for the brain and often theraputic, which appeals to me. Plus if I ever get locked out of my garage (as happened once) I might be able to get in again!Because I am learning, I've only had a little play with all these different tools and locks, but everything looks and feels of high quality. There is a wide variety of picks and rakes, and a bag of different tension tools too. Included is a nice PU leather pouch to keep the tools in. There is a physical 44 page book included written by Chris Dangerfield and I believe that this whole kit is endorsed by him, so I think that is why it is of good quality.The only let down in my kit was that it must have been in slightly damp storage and on the two ended lock the metal middle part has become tarnished with a little surface rust. A small sachet of silica gel would have helped prevent this. Oh well. Not to worry, the rest of the kit is mint.The book is very good too. It's not the nicest looking design inside and it could do with a refresh in style, but the content is great. There are a lot of photos as well as clearly written text that is easy to understand.Overall I am really pleased with this kit and I hope that it helps keep my brain focused and my fingers nimble. Recommended!

You can see the picture but one of the locks was straight up rusted, there's no damage to any of the others or the picks, just that one lock.The guide was comprehensiveand I tried to follow it but honestly I prefer videos, so if you're someone who learns by visually watching, then this might be difficult to follow unless you get other help.I managed to open a lock 2 times but it seems like they're flukes because I couldn't again after, I'll need to practice more.

This is the second lock picking starter kit that I've had.A booklet accompanied the set but was separate so I don't know if they have to remember to supply the book with the set or not as I can see a previous reviewer had to contact the seller. The booklet is well written and easy to follow, much better than the one that accompanied my other set. It clearly explains why it's possible to pick locks and how to get a feel for which pin starts the process off.The tools themselves are well made. The locks are fairly inexpensive but great for starting out.The criticism I would have is the pouch for the tools is only just big enough, they end up crammed in. I think a roll pouch would have been a better choice.Following the instructions and with a little patience I was able to pick all three locks within 40 minutes. To further test my newly refreshed skills I then picked the Squire Stronglock padlock on my garden shed (I've lost the keys for it and it's too tough a padlock for bolt croppers or an angle grinder) and within 10 minutes had opened it to finally have access to my garden tools again. YAY!I think this would make a great little gift for any inquisitive, trustworthy adult or teenager.

This is a really nicely presented beginners kit and the contents are great. Everything is nicely made and the book carries you through step by step in an easy to follow way. I was pleased this did come with a printed book as shown in the product images, I did look at some reviews before ordering where a pdf link was sent instead and I do much prefer to have a physical book in front of me rather than having to sit at the computer and read.I've wanted to have a go at this kind of thing ever since we were on holiday once and couldn't find the key to a suitcase, luckily that lock was so weak that I was able to 'pick' it with inside of a pen, but ever since I've wanted to have a go at a more 'advanced' lock. This has been great fun to play with and learn from.
