Super help for parents and students
I suggest parents work through this text with their student facing career issues. Reading out loud some portions with good family discussion take much of the fear out of this process and this book lends itself to this well. The tests are well done albeit in a shortened way. Results are easy to use.One lack here is a sizable list and connection to specific occupations. This lack makes this book better for high school Juniors and Seniors looking for help in selecting fields of study in post-High School schooling of any kind than for those looking for job placement.

Okay, but much of the same
This book compbines many career tests such as your vaules (you will have to do a lot of thinking about that one) and whether or not you like to live in a hot or cold climate, and I believe it has the Myers-Brigg in it as well. I'm not sure about that one. All I know is that I lost interest in this book after chapter 6. It is all of the same old same ole. What do YOU want to do? What CAN you do? Do you have the skills and if not, get those skills (Just because you have skills, does not mean that you ENJOY using those skills all of the time) and go to college to get your degree for what it IS that you want to DO. I suggest reaading StrengthsFinder 2.0 by Mr. Rath and The Secret. Those two books will do you more good than any other career book.

EXCELLENT book!!!!
I found this book to be a very comprehensive, practical guide; to me, the feel is that it's geared more toward mid-lifers than kids just starting out. In fact, they include suggestions ranging from helping those who need a little adjusting of their current job situation to a complete career makeover. The tests are short and uncomplicated, but, in my case, they were amazingly valid. The "bad manager" list (p. 154 and 155) is not only funny but oh-so-true.This book is so good that I'll be returning the library copy and ordering my own; it's too good to let go.

A good practical guide
I found a lot of of useful information in this book and some very interesting approaches to helping people discover what they are good at, and what they want. I would recommend this this book.

What do you want to do when you grow up?
Tests pointed this senior to the jobs he thought were pretty good but didn't have the self-esteem to decide for himself. The book has 2 full tests and resources.

Interesting...
This is an interesting book. The test do help some, but everything takes a while, so this is not the book for you if you are wanting to take some fast assessment tests.
