When my Oasis arrived, I liked it a lot, but since there was a good gripping area on the right side, but only a quarter inch gripping area on the left, my left hand was constantly getting tired and causing me to drop it on my floor, which is vinyl over concrete. So it didn't take me long to realize that I needed a good case to give more gripping areas and to protect the case from falls. I selected this one, choosing the tan leather design. When it arrived, I instantly liked its appearance. The embossed design on the leather reminded of a specially bound book. I don't know if it's real or simulated leather, but it looks and feels real. it naturally gives me a more secure grip on my Oasis, so dropping it is a thing of the past. The fact that just closing the case sends my Oasis into sleep mode is also convenient. The back rest is surprisingly useful. Other holders that I have used claimed to incorporate a back rest, but they only held the tablets in a landscape position, and I prefer to read in a portrait position. I was in the habit of keeping a phone rest in my carry bag, but with the built-in backrest, no separate holder was needed. I also found that the back rest could act as a handle and give me a really secure grip on my Oasis. A good case is really necessary for any Kindle, and, for an Oasis, This is a really good one. I highly recommend it.

Lovely leather stand for my oasis. The case is made the right way, where you can reach the page turn buttons, unlike some cases. The sleep mode is an added bonus, as I don't have to physically turn my oasis on and off all the time, or let it run the battery down. The stand part might be a little too wide, as it angles the oasis face upward. The hand band is wide and sturdy. This case makes carrying my oasis with me safer from getting beat up and scratched in my bags.

Has a number of functions all worked to perfection, and the brown vintage leather cover looks superlative.

I love that the case has two support aids, one for standing and the other for holding. All buttons are available as though the case did not exist. Great fit. What I do not like is the color scheme. I had a book cover on my old Kindle, and it was mostly beige, brown and yellow, much calmer and relaxing than black a red, and orange.
