I got one of these and updated the firmware. After that, it worked for 2 days and now it won't return a device descriptor. Is that common?

Work properly with STM32CubeIDE

So when I first tried to use this, and being very new to using STM32CubeIDE, I did two stupid things, I selected all unused pins as analog, and I also selected one of the STlink pins as an output. So I downloaded by program, STlink could no longer communicate to my project. So don't do the above without setting up the pins you need to use.

Works Great!

I used it to flash a STM32 controller on the Nintendo Game and Watch. It's simple, small, and works like it should. Minimal packaging but zero damage.

Fully Functional; Not $40

Items like this are what make amazon is so great. This does everything an official ST-Link programming dongle does at 1/4 the cost. For a hobbyist who might never use an ST-Link programmer again, nothing can beat that.Worked with STM32CubeProgrammer.

Great Value for the money

I read some complaints about this programmer not working for some people. I've purchased 2 of these over the last month and they had different silk screens on the side designating what signals were on what pins. Both programmers are recognized by ST Micro's ST-Link Utility and both had no problems updating their firmware to the latest version from ST Micro.I initially was thinking that the silk screen was wrong or that the firmware loaded at the factory mapped the signals to different pins. When my cable that I made for the first programmer did not work with the 2nd programmer I bought I decided to open up the units and see why. The 2nd programmer I purchased has an older PCB revision (D vs E) and it conveniently has the pin names silk screened on the PCB. In both cases the silk screen on the PCB matched was was printed on the outer case.Once I made a new cable for the new programmer and used the signal names to map to my mini-JTAG connector on my board the 2nd programmer worked just as expected. It's a shame that the they moved the pinout between revisions as it definitely leads to confusion and unfortunately dedicated cables for each programmer.I only used SWD communication so I did not need SWIM but I would imagine that if you follow the silk screen you should be fine. As a side note, both of these use the same processor and it's not even a ST Micro part, it's a CKS32F103C6T6

Works well for basic programming, but feels a bit flimsy

This programmer is good for simple STM32 programming jobs. It's easy to use and does what it's supposed to. However, it feels cheaply made and you might get stuck with a cable color you don't like.Pros:• Easy to use• Works for basic programming tasksCons:• Build quallity feels a bit cheap• Cable color is random
