2011 Mini cooper base 6 spd shifter knob
The shifter knob looks and feels good, but, shortly after installation the knob popped while shifting the transmission. I popped it back on and it came off again....and again..... I replaced the original because the chrome plating was peeling and it would leave sharp edges. I finished removing the chrome from the original shifter knob, reinstalled it and haven't had a problem since.

This gear shift is NOT LEATHER. It does NOT meet MINI COOPER standards. It's crap!
This gear shift is not leather. The material wore through in only a few months. Spend the extra money and buy a good one.

somewhat ok but I'll buy an OEM replacement
So it looks pretty good out of the package. It's not identical to my R56 2011 Cooper S. A little taller in dimension, the black knob part is not as beefy (heavy) and is smaller in circumference. Due to that the metallic silver ring protrudes a bit where it meets the black knob part and almost cuts into your hand as you hold it and shift gears. The spring fingers that go through the collar and should hold this to the stick is not as thick it seems and does not grip as tight so that it easily pops off if you shift hard. I think I'll spring more money and get the OEM one.
