It's isn't going to work they way you think it will
So, BLUF. This product isn't going to give you enough IR Light to use your Quest 2 if you are already having issues with a room that is too dark.I have Gen 3 Night Vision Googles, so I figured I'd test this IR light.I have the IR Illuminator set up in the corner of the room, the light of a computer monitor is lighting up the rest of the room. It looks bright in the NVG's, but it isn't. The second picture is that same area without night vision. Your Quest 2 can't pick up as much IR light as the NVGs can, and this IR Illuminator is barely lighting up that wall/celling a few feet from it much more then the computer monitor 20 feet away is. Remember, that Illuminator is a few feet from the wall/celling; if this was over a larger area (like trying to light up the whole room) the light would be so spread out it would even over power the monitor's light. And that monitor's illumination wouldn't be enough for the Quest 2 to track; this IR Illuminator clearly isn't enough. Any regular night light would put off as much light as this IR Illuminator, it isn't enough to light up a room to use a Quest 2.The other issue with this is, the IR illuminator has a light sensor, so it only turns on in the dark. If your room is too dim for the quest to properly track, it's probably bright enough that this will not turn on either. There is not override or switch to force it on; it stays off if it detects light. Even when my room was dim this wouldn't come one, but that is ok because my dim lights over power the IR this gives off anyway.

Decent light, but made for security cameras
This is a decent light that does what it's supposed to with the Oculus Quest 2, but it doesn't have an on/off switch, and you have to unplug it every time. Also the light doesn't sit flat on a table because the power wire is heavier than the light!I think it is made for security cameras because it only has a light detector that turns on the IR lights when it's dark.I already have to unplug my VR headset from the charger, clean the lenses, plug in my earphones, get the controllers, connect the headset from the PC, and then having to fiddle around with this light just adds to the list of all the things that I have to do when I am about to use my VR headset.Adding a simple on/off switch would save us all the hassle.

Works perfect in complete darkness with oculus 2.
It sits in front of me on my desk and It’s never failed. Now my neighbors don’t need to watch me be a nut in VR!

Oculus small investment
Got this for playing in a dark room and it has performed better than expected. Highly recommend.

It's.. alright? Hm
When it comes to keep a room lit in the dark (Or a spot that's dark), it actually does a fairly decent job. Nothing too impressive for its size but just enough to fit within the needs of someone's average/general VR space. My only complaints with this product is how durable it seems to be. The rigidity of the cable feels cheap, and so does the plastic of the product as a whole. The small brick chipped from a small fall against a dresser. If one wants to spend time in the dark when it comes to VR, this could be a decent option.

LED dying and Overheating quickly
It works great in the dark for me but I have noticed some of the LED lights were starting to die and it gets hot in like half an hour

Didn't know I needed this.
If you sleep in VR with a Quest, you need this. It turns off and on when it determines its too dark for the room to be trackable.Only con is the short cable, this is not roof mountable unless you want an ugly extension cord showing so you'll probably have it laying on a desk making it less effective.
