Does the job
Thinner than the 1st 800 series I bought 3 years ago, it should do the trick, may just invest in the best with the 10 year warranty…however the warranty is really good!

NOT the quality or product described
BUYER BEWARE. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT AS DESCRIBED. THIN and POOR QUALITY. DO NOT BUY.When I first posted, I commented the quality of the product was lacking. The prior cover was purchased 6 years ago. Same specifications. The prior cover was super heavy and well made. This cover is super light, arrived in a bag and could be carried with one hand. This cover held up, you can see through it. See photo. The old cover held up is not see through and just dark blue. The seller emailed a reply asking for me to send photos. I took photos of the new cover and old cover, emailed them back July 3, 2023.To date, July 28, 2023 I have YET TO RECEIVE A RESPONSE.Fortunately buying on Amazon and delivery through Amazon clearly documents dates.I cannot imagine this THIN, See through, light weight, cover will survive a three year documented warranty. I will take more photos at the end of summer showing the process I go through washing it with fresh water and storing it, dry, rolled up and in the garage.Obviously the attempt at customer service to offer a reply is a meaningless excercise by a company that is as false as their product.*DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. THIS PRODUCT IS POOR QUALITY AND OVER PRICED FOR WHAT IT IS.*PAY more and buy something else. NO MORE from Amazon. I learned my lesson. I will go to a local pool supply to see and know what I am buying even though it costs me more. Very disappointed.

Good buy good quality
Keep the debris out of our pool and also keeps the water warm, these covers usually last about eight months and then we toss it and buy another one.

Go thicker if you want very good heat retention.
It does cover the pool surface, but it is so thin that it starts to sink with a minimal amount of water on top. It is also so thin that heat retention is not very good (thicker is better and you do get what you pay for). I will go thicker next time. I went this thin because any thickness I have tried only lasts 2 seasons. Crossing my fingers that this one lasts that long.

I have used solar covers for years. And this company makes good ones. I have found that they don't last (like most people) and I'm okay with that. Against the cost of an automatic cover it's a no brainer. I use the trouble free pool method so I keep my chlorine levels higher. No algae and trouble-free clear water yes, but solar covers lasting that long no.I have bought a 1600 and 1200. They both last me a year and then maybe half. Then they start falling apart and the plastic pieces are everywhere. So I adopted a new strategy. I'll replace them every year. They never fall apart and I never have to worry about drying/storing for the winter. Use it and toss. So this year I went one step farther and decided that as long as it was one year and toss, I'd buy the cheapest one.Uh....no. As soon as I opened it, I could tell it was noticeably thinner than the others. But who cares...only a year. I opened my pool April 25 and it went on that day. August 17 and it's ripping (which no other cover had before this) and the bubbles are disintegrating at an unbelievable rate. It didn't make it a year. Now I just ordered the 1600 in the hope that it will last the rest of this year and next, which I think it will.I live in an area with very high winds, and in the past as long as I threw a couple of used chlorine bottles a quarter full of water on the cover, it didn't go anywhere. This one is so light if the jets were pointed up it was pushed to the middle. In the wind I have to pull it over the edge and hold it down with cinder blocks. I have never had to put bottles on the reel side. This year I have three or four bottles on the reel side as well to hold it down against the wind.Great solar covers, just steer clear of the 800.
