Motown Artist by Artist

Don't waste you money on this one. By the time you've finished the preview on your Kindle, you've only read through the index. The chapters on the singers are really brief and lack anything of real interest. This book(?) is a looser!!

I gave it to a friend who is also a Motown FANatic. Not enough in depth background, behind the scenes information for me.

It is a comprehensive collection of the wonderful Motown artist roster from inception to today. Not only focusing on the great Gordy era like most of the books. I supported the label heavily through the Gordy years owning an extensive CD/vinyl collection. But I also recently bought the current smash duet album, "Love, Marriage & Divorce" by Toni Braxton/Babyface.

Motown fans - save your money. The biography on each artist is scant, most about a page long. Features loadsof recent artists, and misses many from the classic era. Rubbish!!

I am a Motown junkie. I have been searching for this book for 3 years and couldn't find it anywhere. I was beginning to think that it didn't exist. It is very comprehensive but is missing some very good talent...they may only have had one or two singles but they where great, just the same.Hattie Littles & The Fayettes, Linda Griner, LaBrenda Ben & The Beljeans, Tata Vega, Bonnie Pointer are some of those wonderful singers from the early 60's & 70's..

A great must have book for the R&B lover. Covers a lot of information.

I thought it was too expensive. But I enjoyed it.

５０年以上もの歴史を、写真だけでも見ていて楽しいです。有名どころがズラリと圧巻です。さすがモータウンという顔ぶれで、英語が読めればもっと楽しめるのでしょうけど、…。

Good read for the Motown fan

What a great little book this is, I love it's stylish look and the themed lettering style and colour that runs throughout. It has some new pictures in it too. I've yet to read it and I hope that it turns out to be factually correct, but it's one of my favorite books ever already.
