I understand exactly what you're talking about. You need to use pressure in this instance. I water with the squeeze bottles (like a first aid wash bottle) and I carefully aim it right into the spout holes, or alternatively you can rest the tip on the water inlet of the pot, and then gently squeeze. The pressure will force it down.
