Q: Can I use both bars together for 1 patio door? I need a bar that is ~45.5 inches long, and I couldn't find any online but these 2 together might work

Hi,Though combined, the length would work, we would not be able recommend you use the products as you described for burglary protection. With enough force, it's possible that one bar would push up against the other and cause them to jackknife and fail to work. Thank you.

Q: How are these childproof? I have a 3and half year old who can reach the window. Thank you.

The Lock-it Block-it devices are placed in the top half of the window, wedged into the top corner of the window and held secured by adhesive strips which make it difficult for a child to pull off. A small child should not be able to reach that height unless there's furniture placed next to the window. Per child safety experts, no furniture should be placed near a window that allows a child to climb up on a window. When the device is adjusted to that the bottom half of the window can't be opened more than 4 inches, the child should be safe from accidental falls. Thank you.

Q: Can this be permanent to where a teenager can’t tamper with to sneak out of the house

No. They are velcroed to the window so a teenager can pull it off to leave and put it back on when he returns. I imagine that you can screw the device into the window frame, but then it can’t be easily removed if there is a fire. Of course, it is much more likely that a teenager will sneak out... (I had 3).

Q: my window opening from the top down is 13" . This is the part where I need to put this bar. Is there one small enough?

Mine is not that small and I don't know if they make one smaller. I suggest you call the manufacturer and ask them.
