Q: what size is best to accommodate a womens large

Hi Marie, A womens large would most likely correspond to size medium. For a more accurate measure, I recommend that you measure the circumference of your dominant hand, as indicated in the "How to Measure Your Glove Size" image to the left of the product listing page. Hope this helps.

Q: Will they help with prickly vines? We are pulling long greenbriar vines out of trees and want something to protect our hands. These are wicked vines!

Hi and thanks for the question. Our gloves are intended to be rose thorn proof without comprimising on flexibility. They are specifically designed to protect the hands as well as the whole length of the forearms. Having said that, many people use our gloves for working with blackberry bushes, cacti, carrying firewood, handling animals, general gardening, etc. Compared to other gardening gloves that are made from inferior quality leather, we firmly believe that our gloves are much more likely to hold up against the greenbriar vines that you need to pull out!

Q: Can these gloves be washed

Hi Cyril, we don't recommend them to be washed in the washing machine. However, previous customers have not had a problem hand washing the gloves. We also recommend that if possible, the gloves are treated with a glove balm to keep them supple. Hope this helps.

Q: Do these gloves stretch to form fit? if my hands measure 8" should I buy a small or a medium pair?

I do not know if they stretch, but since they are goatskin, perhaps a bit, much as leather does. I have size 7 hands and small fit me with some room. If you want them skin tight, then perhaps a small will work for you. I do not like them tight as I like air around my fingers to keep them from sweating. I love these gloves!!!
