HAZARD 4 Universal Pistol/Gear Holster

It was a great holster, it just didn't work for my application with my Hazard 4 Bandoleer. It was just a little long to fit well and be able to properly pull my CCW out. Straps, velcro, and retention are great and would work well in another bag setup.

The snap is better than the bungee cord types because the bungee cord I tried was too stiff. Snap works great quickly getting things out if you need them. And that strap holds it in position where you put it very well.

I was using the 5.11 adjustable strap to holster my VP9SK, which is now carrying my mag as you can see in the pic, in my Vertx transit sling bag. The 5.11 piece worked for what I needed it for, but I was curious as to how the Hazard 4 stick up holster would work and I am glad I bought it. The setup and installation was straight forward and very easy. I placed the button strap behind the slide which works well when unbuttoning the strap and making your purchase. I think the button works well despite what others have mentioned. It's a matter of having proper tension on the strap while securing the pistol, so adjust it accordingly and you should be good. I would highly recommend this as I have multiple bags with the hook & loop design and can transfer my pistol from one bag to another with ease. All in all, this was a great purchase for me! One thing I would like to note is that the hook & loop on certain parts of the Vertx bags are not like the conventional variety (not as thick), so you may find that when making a purchase, that the holster may slightly come off on certain surface area of the holster. Not a big deal as it's still intact, but just wanted to point that out. Not a fault of Hazard 4, it's just how the Vertx bags are designed. As far as installation on conventional hook and loop surfaces, it is SOLID!

What can I say, for what I paid I got a universal holster that I can slap on wherever I have velcro to hold it. Only complaint here is the securing button velcros to the inside of the holster, which means when I pull the gun out it gets caught on the flap. I don't mind this because I removed the button velcro completely as the holster is snug enough without it for me not to worry about the gun falling out.

First off, I want to be clear - I realize that this holster is NOT designed to hold something like a camcorder, even a hand-held one like I have. HOWEVER, having said that, it still loses 2 stars for 2 reasons:1) Website description did say that it can hold "other objects", but didn't specify any maximum diameter.2) IMO, it would've been easy to make this holder adjustable & allow larger objects to be carried. Being a DIYer who routinely "enhances" lots of stuff from both Amazon & Home Depot to suit my needs, I was able to create my own customized camcorder holster with belt loop, simply by adding 3 mini-bungee cords!My point is this - if I can do it this easily, so can they! Given the fact that this is really the closest thing on the market to a true camcorder holster like I created myself, I believe that if they were willing to make a similar kind of enhancement, they could sell the resulting product for a LOT more $ !!!

If you carry a versipac, falcon II, or other man bag with concealed carry options, this is the holster to get. I tried the Maxpedition universal holster but it has no weapon retaining feature. This always concerned me. The weapon could easily come out and flop around in the compartment in which it was installed. It had to be mounted horizontal and the weapon sits in vertically. Several times in noticed the weapon had dislodged from the holster and was "free floating" in the compartment. Not a good feeling. Now, this one is the bomb! Fully adjustable, with an adjustable thumb break. The vertical design seems to support the weapon in the bag 100 percent better. I'm a lefty and and carry a type s bag. The holster is fully adjustable for left handed weapon use. Have used this with a glock 22, colt combat commander, and even an old S and W wheel gun. I have not tried it with any flashlights, reaction sights, or laser sights attached to the weapon but it looks like it could handle most configurations.
