How To Shape Your Tree: You will want to set up, shape, and plug in the lights of each section of the tree separately as you work upward. Step # 1. Place the first large bottom section of your hinged Christmas tree into your tree stand. Start with the bottom row of large branches and gently pull down each large branch in the bottom row only. Tie up the remaining upper rows of the large tree branches in the closed position with a peace of rope that will fit around the closed branches. Step # 2. Pick one of the large bottom branches and find the short attached branches closest to the trunk of the tree. Pull out the first set of short branches angling them slightly towards you. Now bend these small branches so that they will have a gentle curve. Remember to create a gentle curve, not a square bend. Now put the gently curved branch in a upward and outward direction. Step # 3. Find the next set of inter small branches and repeat step # 2. Now put these two curved branches in an downward and outwards direction. Repeat steps # 2 through # 3 working your way out to the tip of the large branch using the upward and outward shaping method used in steps # 2 & 3. As you move out towards the tip of your large tree branch try to vary the distances of your upward and downward bends. Try not to create any straight lines.
