Card works as described, personally I think it's overpriced, and what wasn't clear is that this card doesn't fit into a small PCIEX1 slot. On my board I only have 4 PCIEX1 slots and 2 PCIEX16 slots (for GPUs). Because the interface on this card is larger than a PCIEX1 slot I had to use my secondary PCIEX16 slot which means it is right up against the GPUs fans which I'm not really happy about.

Works with default Microsoft USB 3.0 driver, was able to use Acronis BOOT flash drive and backup system disk without booting into Windows OS. After installing driver in Windows from Startech,com website you can use Disk Eject feature for external drives. Included cable can supply power to external hard drives from USB 2.0 port. Downside - you need to connect devices before starting the laptop. Great addition to those old working laptops.

I have a Corsair 7000D airflow case. It has 4 USB 3.2 gen1 ports on the front header. But my Motherboard can only supply 2 of them. This card supplied the other 2 ports. It was recognized instantly, and windows found the driver by itself. It has 2 ports on the back of the card, but I won't need those. I am only using the internal header to connect to the front panel. It also has a Sata power connecter to supply power for the higher wattage charging standard of USB 3.0 (3.2 gen 1) It was inexpensive and works great.

I bought to add USB 3.0 to my old Gateway LX6810-01 which I bought new in 2009 and still use as a primary machine. It is stock except for an upgraded Corsair 750W power supply and Sandisk 1 TB SSD. That leaves it with an available PCI slot, which this card fit. However, the case interfered ever so slightly with the USB ports (because they're vertical not horizontal as in the 2-port version of this card) but with some persistence, I was able to plug a USB cable into each port. Also, I received Error Code 31 in Device Manager which meant the drivers were loaded but due to the enabled Windows 10 Fast Startup, it took me some time and internet searching to find out I just needed to perform a restart to make it work. That did the trick. It otherwise works beautifully and I was able to take full advantage of the new 802.11ax standard with a just-released USB Wi-Fi 6 adapter and my ISP's Wi-Fi 6 gateway.

installazione semplicissima, funziona perfettamente con Windows11 (23H2). Installare la scheda PCMCIA a computer spento, dopo aver già installato i drivers dal CD accluso. Transfer rate nella copia: oltre 80Mb/sec. Rinnovato vecchio portatile Fujitsu del 2013 con Windows11 e USB3 con questa scheda. Supporta UN solo HD esterno (autoalimentato), ma è una limitazione della PCMCIA (come specificato in un altro commento). Altrimenti case esterni USB con alimentazione separata. Ottimo acquisto. Chiavette USB no problem.
