Pennington Smart Seed Perennial Ryegrass 3 lb

Desperate to grow grass in shade - this is it. We have been trying for years to get grass to grow in our very shared yards. We trimmed trees back, did a ton of prep and put this down and it came up great! And my test bag/area came back the following year just as nice.

Good price, started growing in 3-4 days in Houston where its currently 90+ and 60-100% humidity. I water daily and so far making good progress.

Great coverage and Long lasting mix if you get the watering schedule correct!

Did it's job. Came in a little spotty but that's probably my fault. The areas in my pics were completely bare and no grass because I dug up what remained of the crab grass. I used this seed alone (no other fertilizer or food) to fill in several empty spots in my lawn, right off my patio where my dogs go. I did not water it as directed. It rained later in the day after I planted it and then twice that week I sprinkled buckets of water over it because I live in an apartment and do not have access to a spigot or hose. So I was crossing my fingers that it would take. It rained 2 or 3 times within the 2 weeks after planting. It was a little slow to come up, with signs of sprouts at about 2 weeks. By 1 month it was coming in pretty good. 2 months later, it's mostly full and green, with a couple spots that didn't come in. But that's probably due to poor watering on my part and a lot of wind and traffic and urine still from dogs. So for the price and lack of following directions properly, I can't complain. It did the job I needed it to do. I'll buy some more for the empty spots and fill them in and it'll be complete.

For some reason I'm unable to upload the pictures. Very disappointed in this product, I sprinkled this in some bare patches where our previous winter rye didn't quite fill in and it never sprouted. It got plenty of water and I sprinkled it in January and February. Won't purchase again.

The order came right away, I was not impressed with the germination of these seed.Have planted rye many times . I put it out under perfect conditions but was disappointed in how much actually came up.

Yard looks great. It may and still growing strong.

I recently moved and purchased this grass seed in an attempt to quickly fix muddy/bare areas in my yard. In a little less than three weeks those areas look incredible, like there never was a bare area in the first place. I highly recommend!
