I have tried numerous ways to separate organic kitchen waste & coffee grounds from the regular trash, each have been a pain for one reason or another and it is less trouble to just empty the trash more often. This little bin is absolutely the best! I got the large size and have been using it for a couple months, and I still love it. I have a farmhouse sink so it can sit in the corner, it comes with a bracket that allows it to be installed in/on a cabinet door or wall- I usually would never put something like this inside a cabinet, but this seals up so nicely that there is no smell (even onion peelings) or gnats that have been a problem with others, even after 5-6 days so if that worked best for your kitchen layout you could. This design is so smart - the plastic cleans nicely, it has a little cuff that can fit easily to hold a liner (I use a grocery bag) and the lid sits on top snugly but easy to remove to add garbage. The lid has a little hook on the underside it so it can hang off the side of the bin while you are cutting veggies... I cannot think of anything that I would add- it is a well designed delightful addition to my kitchen! Perfect for composters!

Great size and good quality. The size of this bin is super and for our two person household gives us about 3-4 days worth of collecting which is the perfect time for compositing it. The lid is great and ensures that there are no unwanted smells.

So this would probably be great for something like counter scraps or a mini compost container or something but it’s not super realistic for use as a trash can. I personally ordered it to use to hold cleaning rags after use so I don’t have to put them in my laundry basket but this will probably only hold 2 maybe 3 washcloths, probably not big enough for a even single reusable mop pad or duster. I love the color and that it has a hook to hang it but it definitely doesn’t hold much.

Great addition to my kitchen, now I can easily handle the organic residues from the sink and when we cook. It's small enough and looks pretty. It only smells if you open the lid.

I'm using this on my kitchen counter right next to the sink. I'm not hanging it on the cabinet door b/c I didn't want to bump it while walking back and forth in the kitchen.Sitting on the kitchen counter, it practically blends so much into the background that it's barely noticeable.Although this is rather small, it's plenty large enough for one day's worth of kitchen waste. Mind you, I don't try to cram anything large like cracker boxes, paper plates or packing trays into this bin, but for normal, everyday kitchen trash, this is very, very sufficient.I am using this in 2 different homes in 2 different states.In CA, I use 2 of these side-by-side - - - one for trash and the other for compost.In HI, the state does not compost, so I use just one for both food scraps and kitchen trash.We are two people in the household and this one small bin is amply sufficient for one day's worth of scraps and trash.The small plastic bags in grocery store produce sections fit perfectly and I love how you can tuck the bag into the bin itself so the unsightly ends are out of sight.

With the new composting rules in NYC, this basket is a must have. I clip it to my cabinet below my kitchen pink. It is easy to put all kinds of food scraps in it. It has a cover, therefore no odors emanates after being discarded. Accompanying bags must be purchased. They hold a good amount of scraps before needing replacement.

This little trash can does a great job at locking in any kind of odor that you throw away in it, like dog poop in a bio degradable bag for example.The lid stays closed and has a good rubber seam between the lid and can that locks in odors tight!This is a good quality build for a good price and I highly recommend getting this.
