YouTube's An Ink Guy was right ...
I got my first Platinum Curidas because An Ink Guy on YouTube, together with Goldspot Pens and PenBoy Roy, talked about how long it could go without the ink drying out. An Ink Guy demonstrated how the Curidas went 6 months without drying out. I got my first one because of that. I got this one because the first one was a great writer - and unlike the Pilot Vanishing Point - it's easy to get that pesky clip out of the way (the clip interferes with my grip and writing). So now I have one for red, one for blue, and one for green ... and have replaced my previous 3 fountain pens (with screw on caps) with these 3 for meeting notes.

Buyer beware...
The pen itself is great, fun, and something different from most fountain pens. I won't go into specifics because there are YouTube reviews much more eloquent than me. Overall, I'm happy with it.HOWEVER, be warned that the package sold by Amazon does NOT come with the converter, even though every online reviewer (and the manufacturer themselves) saying it should. When I received the first one I thought it was an accidental omission. When I received a replacement (both were sealed units) and it was also missing, I realised that Amazon are removing them to lower the price of the pen, and forcing you to buy the converter separately. As I use bottled inks I had to spend an extra $12 on the Platinum converter 700, which makes Amazon's price less competitive.

Great Beginner Pen!
As someone completely new to fountain pens, Amazon has been a great source of new pens to scratch that itch. I was able to find this specific model in Gran Red, my favorite colorway of this pen, for way below retail of other dedicated fountain pen companies. Already adding like 2 stars for that alone. This discount came with sketchiness though, as it was not discounted anywhere else. Seeing how Amazon processes millions of packages today, I was almost sure that I would receive a product destined to be returned.Far from the truth. The box came packaged nicely, there was ample protection and the case/box sustained no damage. (Your experience may vary based on the fact that every Amazon worker treats items differently)As for the review? I don't think changing the ink cartridge is annoying. Running out of ink and taking the time to refill is a moment of opportunity to refocus myself on the task at hand, & frankly, I don't think it's that much extra on top of other non retractable fountain pens.Writing wise, I'm a noob. I don't have much to compare it to besides a Kaweco Liliput which is too small for my hands for daily use, and a Moonman M2 which has a fine nib. This pen sports a medium nib, which produces a healthy line, & ink flow is spot on using my Kokuyo Canvas notebook. One con may be that the protrusions near the grip section may be detrimental depending on your grip. If this is the case, at the very least, the clip is removable which improved my experience even with an orthodox tripod grip. It does not bother me and the uniqueness adds extra flair that I enjoy.Above all else, the tactile sensation that the Curidas gives is unmatched by any ballpoint pen & is in my opinion, a reason in of itself to purchase this pen.

Missing the converter.
This pen typically ships with the proprietary converter to use bottled ink. Mine did not. After ordering one and returning it, assuming it was a mistake, the second one has arrived, Also missing the converter. To purchase the converter separately is about $11 plus shipping so you should add that to the price of the pen when you’re considering to purchase. It’s not a terrible deal, but still.

My favorite fountain pen so far
So I'm not the biggest fountain pen enthusiast, but I am a general stationery/writing enthusiast and this being one of the few fountain pens I have, it's by far my favorite. I've always wanted one that clicks because I can easily drop and lose caps. When the nib in inside, it's also hiding behind this little door so that it doesn't dry as fast. It's also not hard to figure out how to take apart and reassemble, and of course if you have pilot cartidges left over from other pens, those can work in this, though it does come with one in the box. It also comes with a little tool specifically to take the clip off. And while I wouldn't need to clip this to anything, it does kind of help my fingers find their place when writing.I just also love the color of this specific one. It's not just green, there's some blue in it as well, and it's really pretty. Comes in a really solid fancy box.The actual writing experience is very similar to their preppy pens that I own.I love this a lot and I will be keeping it nice and safe until I run through my other preppys

Make another choice
I loved the way the pen looks but quickly found it to be overly engineered, balky to work with and difficult to keep working. After a couple of weeks, I trashed it...didn't ask for a refund for my bad decision. Maybe I just had a bad unit...the pen aficianodos on YouTube seem to love the thing.
