LOVE LOVE LOVE adds a nice ambience to any room, nice and bright too

Right of the bat, I just want to say that this light is amazing! The only reason I almost gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. is because its is a little costly for a light. Like you can get a lot of things for 60 bucks. But if you don't have a budget issue at all, it is 100% worth it!Now the thing that separates this from the pack is its rgbic technology. You can have some sick gradients and epic animations. There are a bunch of different lighting presets provided by the Govee app, some of my favorites are pictured above. The app is really convenient, and you can connect it with google or alexa to voice control the lamp. For example, you can say "hey google turn the lamp off in 10 minutes." And it will turn off. It also has a DIY tab where you can make your own lighting setups, which is really fun, it can be a little hard to work with and get the results you want, I'll be it. The brightness is great, almost too great... All the white lights on it can light up a room, no problem, and they can dim enough to be a good night light. But when you are working with the rgb mode, such as some of their lighting presets, It doesn't get dim enough to comfortably sleep with. Small gripe, but annoying nevertheless. The lamp has four buttons on the top, two for brightness, one for light color and one for music mode.Overall, this is a lamp I strongly recommend if you have the cash. It adds so much to any setup.Update;I've now had this lamp for a few months, and It was all going great until a couple of weeks ago, when half the light went dead (sorta). When using this light sometimes (rather consistently) half of it freezes, like if an animation is playing, half the lamp will freeze as the other half still functions normally. And if you try to switch lighting presets while this is happening, half of the lamp will change, but the other half remains frozen. This trend continues when you try and turn off the lamp, you get the picture, half will go off as it should as the other half remains on, unable to turn off until you pull the plug. But if you do this, when you go to turn it on, the working side will turn on, but the lame side will remain off. This is really disappointing considering how much I praised it. Now, this glitch may not happen to you. So I still mean what I said before in this review, but there is a chance this same glitch will happen to you. Overall I'm lowering it a star, I will lower it more if i can't get it fixed.Update 2;I know this is a little late as I forgot to update the review, but I'm raising the review back up to five stars because of Govees top notch customer service, I reported the forementioned issue to them and all I had to do was submit some proof of the issue, then they sent me a new light without even making me return the old one, it didn't take very long at all to get this done, so once again I highly highly recommend this lamp. While I'm updating things, they actually added a new update. They added a bunch of new lighting presets which really breathe new life into the user experience, even more of a reason to recommend it now, some of these new settings include this cool firefly effect which is awesome. And one that imitates stormy clouds, Plus quite a few more, if I remember correctly I think they added 22 new effects since I got it (don't qoute me on that). I'm looking forward to buying from them in the future.

The media could not be loaded. Once you learn how to navigate the app, (it's an extensive app with its own social forum and a points system. On top of the never ending settings and scenes. It's definitely overwhelming!) you can find and make your own beautiful effects. It's a very difficult process to make your own. I won't lie, it took me >hour to make the effect in my video above. That was even after I was familiar with the app...If you can't be bothered with DIY, you can use what other people have made! There's a section where people can post their creations and scenes. It's definitely worth looking through. I've found some rare diamonds in there.However I'm confused on how to post my own creations, and I think being able to post is only for certain users. That or my phone does not support certain features inside the app which makes no sense to me. But there were areas in the app that said "not available for your device". I don't know.I do like that they've made it so you can choose to make intricate designs, or use premade ones. That is nice.I don't like how when you make your own design the color wheel doesn't match what shows up on your lamp. The descrepancies are too much. For instance, if you use red near any other color it will turn to pink. And when you use pink or purple it's almost white because it's so washed out no matter where you place it. Green looks like yellow. Blue looks like purple. And some colors on the color wheel just don't exist. You can click on them and use them on the board. But they do not translate. If you have a particular color scheme you're looking for, this lamp might not be able to do it at all.Another issue I have is it's very hard to get good saturation on your own creations. It can be done, but it only works when you use certain colors together, and it depends on the effects you use. Thats a huge reason why creating your own scene is very time consuming. It's a lot of testing and redoing. Annoying but worth it in the end when you finally get the vibrancy you're looking for. You will think it's impossible at first, but it is. You just have to mess with it a lot.I ordered this to REPLACE my bedside lamp. This is not a good replacement for lamps you use to provide good light. The light, even when brightest doesn't bounce off the walls like a light bulb does. You can look at it on the brightest settings and hurt your eyes, but the atmosphere in the room is still dark. This is really only for accent lighting or night lights. The reading light is bright and can fill the room better, but you don't want to directly look at it. It can can make you see spots. I will never use this when I need to see better. It's just not practical that way.It's freaking mesmerizing. When you find your favorite effect it's cool to just stare at.Even with some of the negatives I would absolutely buy it again.
