Great & Safe Ingredients but OK Holding Result on Coarse Hair
In a search for replacing my hair pomade with a healthy, possibly natural and organic pomade I came across this one. What I like about it is the ingredient list of it. I do research every single ingredient before purchasing the product and the ingredients on this one are super safe not to mention organic. The result though was not like a pomade or wax that I was used to. That seems to be due to the fact that this product doesn't use petrochemicals that are effective in sticking hair follicles together for those with stubborn coarse or wavy hair assuming you want to tame and control them. So overall, the hold I'd say is Low to Medium which should be enough for someone with softer straight hair as it seems to be able to manage that type of heir but not so much my type of hair. That said, the ingredient are nourishing and if I don't want to look like I have pomade in my hair and don't care much for taming my stubborn waves this will be OK for everyday use. But if I want to style my hair and get a pomade or wax look where my hair stays in place and the waves are not as noticeable I probably need to use a pomade with more holding power. The shine is medium. But if you are trying to compensate for the hold by applying more (which might or might not work depending on your hair) the shine will be more as it's an oil based product. The feel is more like coconut oil. It's solid in room temprature but with melts, as you lather it into your palms. Overall, I'd say it's a good product for daily use given how hard is it to find a pomade without petrochemicals but at the expense of the holding power of it.

The worst hair pomade I’ve ever had
This organic hair pomade is a solid block of shea butter and other ingredients that make it a waxy brick that is impossible to scoop onto your fingers and rub into your hair. I thought maybe the cold weather during the delivery of the item to our house made it rock hard, so I gave it some time to see if the hair pomade would melt a little at room temperature in our house to make it useable. Nope; the little round brick of wax is still too hard to be useable.Weirdly, the lid on the small tin was difficult to twist off. I had to use a rubber jar opener we have in our kitchen to get the lid off, and even with that extra help it still took some time to remove.I don’t think I’ve ever taken advantage of getting a full refund on a product I did not like. But I would do so with this product. It’s that bad, and I’ll be thinking twice about purchasing strangely labeled "vegan" hair products in the future. Glad to hear there are no animal ingredients in this product, but please sell me pomade I can use.I’m bewildered by the four-star review average of this item on Amazon because the stuff is totally unusable.

Stop searching, this is it!
After much prompting from my wife and research into the stuff that was in the pomade I was using I quickly started looking for a replacement. I have wiry dark hair on the 2-5 in length that I prefer to keep off my forehead and professional looking (ie. combed) all day. I was nervous about getting something with medium hold, but decided to give the C&C pomade a go. I could not be more pleased with it. It holds my hair perfectly all day long and it never feels greasy or heavy. No helmet hair at all but does have a nice healthy shine to it and it doesn't take much. I use less than a pea sized amount in the morning on towel dried hair, rub it between my fingers until I feel the grit melt, and then it smoothly rubs into my hair, comb it into the style I want and I'm done. I've noticed an improvement to my scalp (no more mystery flakes) and my complexion (no breakouts on my forehead). I am definitely a customer for life now and have been recommending it to others and use it for my son as well. Can't believe it took me so long to find but glad that I did. A note on the scent, I don't notice it after I rub it in, even when I'm working out at the end of the day and I start sweating, but when I put it on the morning I find the scent refreshing and my wife likes it to. If I could give 6 stars I would!

Just OK, not great
I am forever on a quest for a replacement to the Body Shops Coconut hair shine - that was the pinnacle of hair pomades - but it is off the market. This product is fine but falls short in a few areas. This is a cream style pomade (or supposed to be) The scent is somewhere between musk and pine - it’s not overpowering when applied but that is the smell. Some may like it but I prefer a lighter, cleaner smell. The second thing is getting the product out to apply it to your hair. This product is on the hard side and a little gritty to the touch. If you swirl your fingers in the product and get it warm it will “sort of” flow and then you have to warm it up further with all your fingers before applying to the hair. It’s a little too hard and should be easier to apply. More than one time I have looked at my hair and had a small bit that was not fully disolved on my hair. Once all that is done it’s not the worst product I have ever used but nowhere near the best. When in your hair it does what it is supposed to and does last a good long time and does wash out easily enough. It is organic and that is a plus, if only it worked better. So it’s just OK - not great and for the price it needed to be great. There are other pomades on the market that are close in price and are better all around.
