Works great, as advertised. Fits 5.56 chamber fine.
Works great. Was able to zero my sights without issue. I actually used this on a S&W MP 15 milspec for 5.56 and it fit fine. You don't want to place in a magazine to load with the bolt, it will jam. Just lock the bolt and place the shell into the barrel and slowly lock the bolt into place.Take it to the range set it for 25 yards and aim at the target, get your targetting on the laser. Swap to live rounds and fire a few shots aiming for the center of the target. Check and see where you hit. It should be close. Swap back to the laser and move the targetting to the where you were hitting. After one or more tries you should have it dialed it. The laser first gets you close then is used as your frame of reference to adjust. Much easier and faster than trying to eye ball it.

I took one dead battery out of the bore sight and inserted the remaining good battery (laser came back on)
Item comes with 4 batteries. I initially installed three. Set rifle rest up in the back of my garage with the target taped to the drivers door of my truck. Distance was 25 yards down my driveway to the south (into the sun). Truck door is primer gray and at 2 pm the door was shaded. I could not see the laser on the truck from inside the garage and had to walk to the truck to view laser spot on the door. I was zeroing a Ruger Mini 14 with a new Primary Arms Red Dot Scope. First impression through the scope was bullseye and the bore sight showed a foot to the left and a foot high. Took about 15 minutes to make necessary adjustments and observations to zero. Confirmed zero and... laser died. I took one dead battery out of the bore sight and inserted the remaining good battery (laser came back on), and I did a quick confirm of zero on a second rifle before laser died again. Next time I do this..I'll wait until later in the day when I would be able to sit at the rifle rest and see the laser on the target (dusk maybe). Impressions of product: the bore sight laser provides a bright round display on target. Easy to use. Absolutely no problems and now added to my gun equipment locker. To be sure of having enough TIME TO PROPERLY ZERO your rifle I would suggest ordering extra batteries. Now the range. to make final adjustments.

Didn't work well enough to be impressed.
Good side: Looked good in the package. Appears well made. Bright beam, when it worked. The down side: Comes with NO additional information. You do get 4 batteries, for all the good they do lasting 10 minutes or so. No way to turn if off without removing the batteries. The one I got worked off and on. By the time I was able to zero my sights, the batteries were dying. May have been better if it had worked correctly. Not going to try a replacement. I would rather have my money back. I can zero my sights with cheap ammo for the same $20, and have more fun doing it.

Surprisingly Good!
The media could not be loaded. Over my 20+ years of gunsmithing I have never had much faith in bore sights but decided to give it another try so I purchased this one.I shoot around 500 rounds per month and that's JUST my rifles. That doesn't include my pistol shooting.Instead of trying it out on a gun and optic that wasn't sighted in, I picked a rifle that I had just zeroed at 100yds.After it was zeroed I moved the same target up to appx. 17yd's then I chambered the laser bore sight and to my surprise it was VERY close to my 3 shot group that was fired at 100yds!!For this rifle, at least, I could definitely be on paper and possibly be very close to being sighted in at 100, which is what my personal goal is.The product is VERY well made and I look forward to using it many times and I will be using it with my chronograph so I can see the approximate track of my bullet path to ensure I don't hit the chrono. If you are thinking about getting one I would go for it and give it a try because it will save you a bunch of time and ammo.

But at your own risk
I read countless reviews on various types of bore-sight lasers, but decided to give it a try to see first hand.Let me start off by saying this laser is very bright on its own. It can be seen out at 50+ yards and farther with a reflective target. The problem comes when placed in the chamber. This seems to be a common problem with these lasers. I read numerous reviews about users having issues with the beam scattering (or not projecting). It almost seems like the laser is hitting “something” inside the barrel. It could possibly be bouncing off the muzzle break.Long story short, I rotated the laser dozens of times and still had the same result. The laser would not exit the barrel and I was never able to see it.So I took the rifle to my agency range and zeroed it in the old fashioned way. If you know what yo ur e doing, it doesn’t cost a fortune to zero a weapon. Save your money and just put it towards ammo.

Would recommend this product!
To be honest this is junk. After I chambered the laser sight it only stayed on for 2 minutes. I had to eject the sight numerous times because it never stayed on. Would not recommend this product for the price. My cats laser works better than this and only cost a buck.I wrote the previous review on this item. I contacted the business about this item. They sent me a new one with no questions asked even going as far as not asking me to return the old item. They sent me a new one immediately. I am extremely happy with this item. It works great!! Apparently I got a bad one. Highly recommend this company for a great product and customer service. Will do business again in the near future.
