The Aranyik Extended Latin Machete is used for clearing grass, tropical vegetation, sapwood under 2" diameter, thorny brush, and other wiry brush. Main use is in the maintenance of trails and property borders. Aranyik is famous for it's rough, traditional design. This machete is not designed for the collector, and is an economical production designed for farmers, landscapers, and arborists, and other similar fields. The wood on the handle may need to be lightly sanded, and the edge may need to be honed. There may be small gaps between the handle scales and tang, and that is not structural, as this is a non-epoxy construction. It is peened pin construction.

Best for last
I just received my Latin machete from Aranyik today. I had already ordered the Extended Latin machete thinking bigger is better. Well I was wrong. This one feels perfect in the hand. I own about every brand of machete worth buying. But I always felt there was something better out there. Don't get me wrong some of them are excellent with 1070 high carbon steel from Brazil. 1075 high carbon steel from El Salvador. And 1095 high carbon steel from the U.S of A. As good as all these others are, I feel that the Aranyik with 5160 spring steel and hand crafted in Thailand is superior to anything I have purchased so far. I have finally found the machete I was looking for all along. I use it with absolute confidence because I know of the toughness of 5160 spring steel. I know of no other manufacturer using steel of this type for their machetes except Aranyik. I would highly recommend to anyone, get an Aranyik machete you won't be sorry. By the way the customer service is impeccable. I have received my orders extremely fast and carefully packaged. If you need a decent sheath the Cold Steel 18" Latin machete sheath is a good fit and feels sturdy for less than $9 at time of writing this.

This is a VERY nice machete. The steel is thick and the blade ...
This is a VERY nice machete. The steel is thick and the blade is very well balanced. It came sharp, almost shaving sharp. A little work on the edge and it's scary sharp. The up-swept tip adds to is brush cutting. This blade is also heavy enough to cut through thick branched and sturdy enough to use for chopping. Lacquer on the handle should probably be sanded off, but other than that, this is the nicest machete I own and have found.

Holy crap!
This thing is freakin sweet. Its heavy, sharp, brutal, and looks like it was hammered out of an old leaf spring. It's like a prop from a Peter Jackson film. No sheet metal crap here. This thing is steel, forged.

It cuts good and doesn't break what else do you need to know?
It's a good hacking tool that gets the job done the blade in nice and this so you get that extra umf while cutting medium to heavy meterial but it's light enough to handle twigs and vine and what not all in all it's a well built tool and the handle is damn gorgeous to

Great tool
Great machete with a little extra heft for chopping through woodier vegetation. The extra weight would be taken into account when purchasing.Looks wise it has a lot of character and looks handmade.

best machete ever
This is the type of quality you always HOPE what you buy will be. Came sharp, ran my ceramic sharpener over it a few times and it literally cuts paper like a razor blade. My only regret is I only bought one and now they are sold out..Good JOB !!!! and THANKS for a superior product !!
