Rexel Duo 2102560 10 Sheet Manual Cross Cut Shredder For Home Or Small Office Use, 17 Litre Bin, Includes Shredder Oil Sheets, Black

I have used this shredder for two days and so far so good. Though the bin looks small, it can fit a lot. It can shred consistently for quite a while without heating up. The cool down time is also quite short. It is light weight, so very portable and small enough to store away when not in use.I have used quite a few different brands of shredders and this one is, so far, in my top 3.

Seems to work fine and will shred 10 sheets. Overheat means 45 minute wait before using again. Has overheated twice already on day of delivery. I was shredding a lot so day to day normal use should be fine. Description is wrong. No oil sheets included.

OK value I got this on offer from amazon 2016 March and the product is very solid and effectivehandles card and cardboard like the amazon boxesvery light tissue paper needs to be folded for effective shredding else it jams the mechanism, tweezers useful to unjamso far very pleaseddestroys credit cards and CDs as wellfinally the motor is dying after 4years 9 months of regular work Dec 2020, tidying old credit card/bank statements and all post or work related items, this has handled very significant amounts of SOHO work so for the £35 paid brilliantshame it's now approx £113.00 April 2021 motor finally has given up after resetting mounting several times which gives less and less use but 5 years and lots of shredding price has just dropped to £50 tempting...

All seems well so far. Safety notice : Just be careful though - when I plugged it in, I didn't realise it was already pre-set to "Forward mode" and it started up & nearly sucked in the loose drawstring of my gym hoodie. So be sure to move the slider to "Off" position before plugging in & switching on. Personally, I think it should be set to the "Off" position when shipped.

Bought to replace an existing Rexel shredder that finally gave up the ghost after years of good service. This one is much noisier than the old one and much harder to feed the paper into the slot, but it does a good job of shredding paper so I suppose that that is all that really matters. I have yet to try shredding a CD or a credit card so I cannot comment as to how effectively it performs those tasks.
