We converted a bookshelf with legs into a bookshelf with casters. We had some unsightly closet shelves and storage, and no folding closet doors yet...so we had the idea to hide the unsightly storage with a rolling bookshelf placed in front of the unsightlies. The bookshelf is on these casters now screwed in, and it sits on berber carpeting. Bookshelf is FULL of books, many hardcovers...and its HEAVY...but its still pretty easy to roll....doesnt feel like it will tip too easily (I wouldnt let a toddler climb on it though, I'd be nervous it would tip if pulled on just right...but we dont have kids so we havent bothered to worry about it...it would take a good pull to tip it anyway). The casters have been holding up for a few months now and are solid that they arent digging into carpet...ours is a thicker flat solid carpet...not sure they would do great on shag...but possible they would do well on all carpets. Worth a try for the price...try them yourselves...worked perfectly for what we wanted.

For the price these are very good. I put them through a torture test however and they failed. They are rated at 100LB per wheel. I had them mounted to the bottom of some HD husky shelving with likely 500 pounds total on 4 wheels and they squished like a pancake in about a week. Yes I put more weight on them than they are rated at because I wanted to test, some comments suggested that they could handle 100LB's easy, but having learned here I would not put more than 30-40 pounds on them (per wheel). I suspect also even at that if you don't roll them around now and then they are going to develop a flat spot. Still an amazing deal for the price. I am not trying some rated at 250 or 300 pounds and will see how they fair. I suspect I am going to need to go with steel in the long run.(Edit) OK, lowering to 3 stars. I remove the wheels from a shelf with very little weight on it tonight and the wheels had flat spots. Yes, I still think this is a great deal, but they are very light duty. Don't even attempt to put more than 20 pounds per wheel on them unless you want flat spots. Nowhere near the 100 they state. Should have known, the price was just too good.

The only problem is related to my application. I built a stand for a tower computer in order to get it off the carpet (for air intake from beneath). Because the board used is a bit narrow and because the plates that are screwed to the board are a bit wide, the wheels wound up a little closer together than ideal, making it possible that the computer could be tipped over too easily. This is not a problem with the wheels. It rolls easily on the carpet, and the height is perfect for my application. You can pay as much for one caster (that is not better) than I paid for all four in this kit. If it turns out that the computer gets tipped over too often I'll have a small skateboard.

Well made casters, heavier and larger than I imagined. Equivalent items are about $4 each at The Horned Despot. They did not come with screws, which was inconvenient, but #10 or #8 wood screws fit the holes. I used these for a DIY roll-out pantry next to my refrigerator, so the casters were screwed into a piece of 1/2 plywood. The cabinet weighs less than 200 lbs full, so these are probably overkill for the application, rated at 100 lbs each. They attached easily and roll smoothly. Very satisfied.Will update to 5 stars if in 6 months they are still rolling smoothly and haven't marked up my kitchen floors.

I attached these to the bottom of a Ridgid shop vac. Part of my dust collection system.I can pull on the hose and the assembly will follow easily. Exactly what I was hoping for.

These may be rated at 100 lbs each, but it's more like 100 lbs all together at the MAX. Doesn't roll well on thicker carpets. I installed them on a 20"x48"x70" cabinet made from 1/2" mdf and even with it empty it is too much weight. It will barely swivel unless you slightly pick up on the corner you want to swivel as you move it. They also bend and warp oddly and cause the cabinet to be out of square. I don't even use them anymore.These might be ok if you use them for something lightweight and on a hard surface like concrete, but anything over 40 lbs total full weight I would recommend going heavier duty.

I bought these to put on my guitar amp cabinet. Every guitarist needs to do this with all their equipment. Like you don't even know how dam convenient it is now to haul my crap around now. I got my head on there, got my pedalboard on there, got my cables, got my ax on my back, just walk up the street like wa'sup. No strain, no nothin. Gotta put wheels on that shyt man
