MIght be the right mask for you, might not be
I can't disagree outright with the negative reviews but having spent the time to get it set up to my liking I believe it's better than the other options available. First, the lack of an exhaust valve is going to be a problem for some. I don't think they would have been able to keep the lightness or flexibility of the mask if they were going to start building that stuff in. Look at some of the competitors to see what that ends up looking like. The seal does absolutely break when you exhale, but as soon as I'm done exhaling (even before my inhale) the mask is back on my face and making a good seal. Second, the straps are a drag. I think they are flimsy by design because the idea is that you never have to have this thing stuck to your face with 100 lbs. of pressure to make a seal. The straps mostly hold the thing lightly in the right place and your inhalation strengthens the seal. If the straps aren't holding the mask in the right place the mask will move around some because your face gets sweaty where the mask hits your face and you basically turn the thing into a hovercraft when you exhale. My strap setup uses the around the neck attachment so it avoids the ears. I did not like it around my ears because it does end up causing pressure and soreness, as another reviewer said. Even after I started using the around the neck setup it was putting pressure on the top of my ear so what I do is take the straps and the bit of plastic that joins the two sides in the back and lift them up over the stabilizer part of the helmet that hangs down. Then, I take the upper straps and hook them over part of the back of the helmet on the so the path to the mask avoids my ears.Again, I get the negative reviews and for those people the alternatives are going to be more up their alley, and my review almost sounds like a comical justification for this masks many foibles. "The flimsy strap and sweat hovercraft technology are features, not flaws!" For me, having spent the time getting my own setup right, it's the right mask for me. Light, simple, flexible, and from the research I did it filtered out more particulate than the other options. Your mileage may vary.

Amazing for asthma
I've purchased the following1. Totobobo: The most breathable mask ever. Amazing seal. Does not get hot. The only downside is that it does leave marks on your face bc of the plastic. I don't think there is another mask on the market with a better seal. Definitely a keeper. I'm so happy I didn't rely completely on the negative reviews here. I ordered it anyway after reading another asthma sufferer's review.2. Vogmask 2 vent ($40): Gets super hot due to thick material. Great quality.3. generic cotton mask with pm 2.5 single vent ($13): This mask has a pretty print. Terrible seal and not brethable at all.

its very easy for this setup to come apart
*left nose cover broke off after a week.*the right ear band is so flimpy it broke off or fell outoverall , its very easy for this setup to come apart, especially when you are in a foriegn country and you are traveling around , it seems to come apart very easy and its not like you can just use some rubber bands to hold it together. the communication with the company over some of these issues is virtually non existent, i sent them several email thru their website, and no response. Also the design allows for air to get thru the bottom of the mask near the chin area. This defeats the purpose of the mask most of the time if your chin is smaller than the mask, they need to improve the design to have better suction towards the bottom, I would suggest , buying their other mask or one of the competitiors ones.

Works well with motorcycle
Have used before, ordering from China, good to get directly from Amazon now. Workerd well in recent air quality crisis in Pacific Northwest smoke from Canadian wildfires. After approximately six hours of use can see difference in filter color.

Don't buy
Beyond flimsy. Straps that secure mask to face around ear came apart the first day. Does not create a suction around the face and leaves a huge gap for air to come through. If it was able to secure to the face better it would not be a bad product but unfortunately that is a major aspect. I'm giving it two starts because it is returnable and has potential. But do not buy until design improves.

Totobobo, a particulate mask that doesn't work.
I live in SLC Utah, SLC is, off & on, one of thee most polluted cities in the US thru the winter months. I have been looking for help in a particulate mask to combat the smog as it can get so bad that it compares with Being at times. I have avg'd 190 - 200 miles a week on my bike for the last 3 years, That is when I can stay healthy. Staying healthy is becoming more difficult as the air is getting worse. I state this to give the reader some back round. This product is horrible. 1st there is no ventilator for exhaust, since there is no ventilator the mask does not retain it's seal around the face as your breathing increases. With every exhale I broke the seal and the mask became quite ineffective. I imagine the manufacturers response to that may be that you have to cut the mask to fit and or tighten the ear loops to create a more snug fit. That brings up the 2nd problem, the ear straps. The ear straps are a sham at best. The are light and flimsy, prone to breaking and because you need to pull them so tight to create a seal, your ears start to hurt incredibly bad. Super annoyed with this product, it's cost, and it's manufacturer. Go with a 3M 8214 it's much more reliable.

seal is very finicky
It's so hard to get a good seal with this mask. There also isn't a great way to check. The "water mark" check isn't that clear and you can't be looking into a mirror every 5 min to see. I will be sticking to the 3M N95 masks.

Mixed.. But i think it works.
I have been using these for 2 years everyday more or less. I agree with many of the comments made by others: seems expensive, can be uncomfortable, condensation. My view is a) I like the fact it does not have to cover my nose as I find full masks cause intolerable fogging of my specs b) you can get a decent fit and you get used to it c) there isn't anything similar and the filters do seem to pick up at least some pollution. I am disappointed by the new system to secure the filters which is a couple of very fiddly and, add it turns out, not very robust, plastic bands. They have more both broken. The older design had a simple clip. Also the head startup used to have a toggle. Now there is a rather useless clip that just falls off. I just tied a knot in it in the end. So I'm not going to buy a new one. I will devise a way of securing the filters in place in a sensible way and persevere as I can't see anything else out there quite like this.

Waste of money
I really wanted this to work but it's not suitable for sweaty cyclists. I cut it down using the template and now the edge just cuts into your skin and it doesn't seal well, I've used a hairdryer to try soften the edges to no avail. I should've learnt from the first time I bought a totobobo a few years ago that I couldn't use then, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought this new one was a better design but alas. ....

But after close to two months with this I can safely say it's the best mask for cycling I've ever used
I understand those who don't quite get this mask. It seems absurdly flimsy, and the fact that the seal breaks on exhaling can lead you to think it's not doing its job. But after close to two months with this I can safely say it's the best mask for cycling I've ever used. It's light, its filters work well and with just some initial tweaking it's easy to customise to your face. So if you've had trouble in the past with claustrophobic, heavy fitting masks, I think you'll really enjoy this product.

Good but a challenge to get it to fit
I bought this for a trip to Delhi, a couple of points it is a challenge to get a tight fit around the nose and so you need to constantly play with it and the pollution was so bad in India, I found myself holding the mask around my nose. The straps are hard to use and very flimsy and the mask leaves a mark on the face after use. When you get it right then it is good but at times i wasn't sure if it was working so I wouldn't recommend it for active use or anything like that.

I like it, it fits well
My second mask as the straps broke on my first. I like it, it fits well. Occasionally there's a bit of fogging up of my glasses when I turn my head, but it's not a frequent problem. Not sure if it's clearing out the pollution 100%, but it certainly seems to help prevent outbreaks of hay fever.

... a mask which both filters harmful particles and sits comfortably on the face
Given the intrinsic difficulties in producing a mask which both filters harmful particles and sits comfortably on the face, I think Totobobo have done a decent job. It's not very comfortable, and if you wear glasses then you need to cut off the nose part of the mask (and then not breathe through your nose!), which is not ideal, but I think this is the best of a bad bunch. It does the job and I am wearing it for now. Let's hope our lungs thank us one day.

Very light with interesting sealing system. Little resistance when inhaling and expelling air. However, the mask leaves marks on the face and the ear loop are too thin and fragile.

Not good for exercising. Fragile
Mask is of little use if you are in any way active. The seal on the edges clenches tightly when inhaling deeply, with insufficient oxygen penetrating the filter, and when you exhale, the seals lift off your face, allowing the pollution in.The strap was very fragile and broke soon after buying.

Ok
Okay ish. Bit cheap mask but reasonably efficient. Question durability.

The best - but too expensive for what they are. where's the competition..
delivered on time and until the air is cleared up these are the only masks I would consider. Light , disposable filter.

Damp and uncomfortable
The mask gets damp within minutes of wearing it. The cheap plastic rubs against the skin and I had to remove it while cycling. Not recommended.

The mask is unsightly, but it works.
The mask is unsightly, but it works. You can see the accumulated pollution on the filters and that is frightening
