Great for the price
I got the Redmi Note 9 in the Black Friday sales for £99, which for a smartphone is pretty decent. My old phone was on its way out so after research, I settled for the Note 9. So far I'm very pleased. I personally don't need a phone with huge memory so 64GB is fine for me and can be expanded with a memory card. The battery is great. I've only charged it up 3 times since I've had it (nearly a week) and that's using apps, playing games, watching YouTube videos, making phone calls and chatting regularly for at least an hour a time. With my old phone I was charging it at least twice a day. It was a little glitchy to begin with (it had serious problems running Pokémon Go) but since it's most recent update, it seems a lot smoother and runs the apps and games better. I've not had any issues with Pokémon Go since. Only time will tell though but I'm satisfied for now. Good camera for the price and I love the colour of the back (forest green). It comes with a case as well, which I didn't expect so that was a nice surprise. For the price, you can't go wrong. I do recommend it.

Best phone I've had
Bought the phone for the screen and camera quality it advised, and I can say it does what it says on the tin. Very good screen you can tell it's better than my older Huawei and the camera is excellent , quality is the best I've had in any phone even the expense top brand one , Video is HD and watching films is like my TV , there's s so much on this phone for the price it is an absolute cracker , It is fast via internet and yes Google unlike Huawei and the memory is big ,all I can say best budget phone for all users ,and there's tons more features to mention I've not used yet z

Feature packed, purse friendly phone
Usually I buy budget Moto phones, like the E and G models, but found they scrimped on some features, so wanted to try something new.I bought this Redmi note 9 as I had seen very good reviews online and it was on sale at an excellent price. It arrived quickly and was well packaged, inside the box was the phone, usb c cable, basic instructions and a clear case, with handy flap to stop dust getting into the usb port. The forest green colour is beautiful, even when in the case and the phone certainly doesn't look cheap. Set up once charged was straightforward, and I managed to move over old files from my Moto phone without any issues. I didn't bother to activate a lot of the Xiaomi/Mi apps, like the cloud and phone finder, as Google has apps to perform these functions.I mostly use the phone for calls, emails, social media, star gazing, watching videos and listening to music and have to say that it works well most of the time for these purposes. That said, it does have some quirks or niggles, which I'll go in to further below.Pros:- Decent battery life, I tend to charge every other day with average use.- Fast charging with supplied smart charger.- Impressive camera array, with lots of options, like night mode, manual and macro. Low light shots come out much better than on my old Moto E phone, as do indoor ones with artificial light. I was very impressed with macro shots I took indoors of some flowers, which I have added to this review, detail was good and colours very vibrant.- Clear case with very handy usb port dust flap included.- Pre-applied screen protector.- Magnetometer, for compass and star gazing apps to work.- IR Blaster, such a great feature if like me, you constantly lose your TV/DVD remote. This was very easy to set up.- Large screen, with clear colours and good image quality.- Good sound quality on both voice and video calls, and while watching videos.- Good internal storage capacity, with option to expand with micro SD card, so very unlikely to run out of room.- Headphone jack, although I have now invested in some Bluetooth headphones, that work really well with this phone.- Gesture feature. If you don't want to use the standard android Home and back buttons, you can activate gestures instead. Swiping left will take you back, swiping up will take you to home screen.Cons:- Can be very laggy, especially if you've inadvertently opened lots of apps and have them running in the background. Thankfully it does have a cleaner app that often pops up and clears up the cache and other unwanted files to free up memory for you.- Camera is sometimes slow to open and doesn't always take photo when I tap the button, so I have missed some Kodak moments unfortunately.- Far too easy to exit a page or go back when typing, thanks to keyboard layout having line below space bar that is very easy to hit (it will be the Android Home and back symbols if you don't have gestures enabled), which takes you to home screen (I've already done it once writing this review!)Overall I am pleased with my purchase and think that this phone offers superb value for money. At this price point, I really can't grumble too much at the little niggles that sometimes crop up. It feels well made and boasts features that are often only found on more mid range or flagship handsets from other manufacturers. Favourite features of mine are the IR blaster, huge battery, built in compass and decent quality camera array (when it isn't lagging).

Bargain of the century!
This does NOT feel like a budget phone. I feel like I've bought a solid mid-range phone. To be honest, it isn't a lot worse than my partner's top end Samsung. Extremely smooth and intuitive user experience. Battery life is great - can get a couple of days out of it easily. Looks sweet in the forest green. I'm really really impressed! Especially at the sale price of £139.00. But even at the RRP of £179.99 is well worth it.

Good but not great
Generally is great for its price, but be warned the UI and Helio processor are slowing it down. It freezes frequently and become irresponsive for few seconds. Given that I only use it for FB, WhatsApp & YouTube, it must be worse if it's been used for gaming.

Great Phone
My need is for a phone that is easy to use with all its basic functions. I do not stream material except for YouTube occasionally. This phone does all I need with ease. The sound is crystal clear, the screen is clear and bright. The cameras do the job for me although people might consider the selfie camera produces slightly soft images. For myself, I am delighted with the phone and believe it offers outstanding value for money.

Redundant after two months
This is easily the worst phone I have ever used. Out of the box it had performance issues, I cant scroll on any app or website for two long without the entire phone starting to freeze up. The camera quality is only ok for a brand new phone and sometimes takes MINUTES to open or take a picture. If I start trying to change the setting while in the camera it also starts to freeze and sometimes crashes all together. The predictive text doesn't work, autocorrect also doesn't work properly, some apps don't work properly or do bizarre things and I never get notifications on time. If I'm logged onto a website like twitter or Facebook on my laptop I will get the notification instantly, but I wont see it appear on my phone for sometimes upwards of 5 or 10 minutes or usually not at all. I bought this phone as it came highly recommended as a budget phone but it's been nothing but an annoyance and I've already replaced it and gone back to Samsung.
