Klutz Lego Gear Bots Science/STEM Activity Kit for 8-12 years

I am a therapist, and I bought these initially for working specifically with those clients who are hands on and analytical, mostly for practicing problem solving and frustration tolerance. When I did it in session it worked really well, the instructions were very clear and helpful. When I was thinking about gifts for my nephew, this came to mind and I was more than happy to buy it again for him.

Super cute as a stocking stuffer. It’s great for little to bigger kids. It feels like fun but has taught our kiddo some cool building hacks.

My son loves Lego Technic kits, but the big sets are so expensive. This is a good middle ground for a casual Lego kid who isn't going to be getting a college scholarship with Mindstorm but enjoys simple machines. The only downside is that yes, the bulk of the kit is paper cut outs, and a normal 8 year old may struggle to not rip the papers. Adult or older child supervision may be necessary to prevent premature destruction of the entire kit.
