A brilliant design!
One of my most prized possessions! I don’t have a TV, I watch movies on my ipad. I used to put the ipad on a pillow on my legs, but I constantly had to balance it, so I looked for a solution. I stumbled onto this by chance on Amazon and ordered one. OMG! What a great invention!! I love it! It’s been a game changer. I can now watch movies hands free, the ipad stays perfectly put, I don’t need to adjust it or anything. I just move it left when I get up from the chair and swing it back in front of me when I watch TV. Really a brilliant design! The base is heavy, so it’s perfectly stable. I adjusted it just right for me, it’s easy to install the ipad and it’s of excellent quality. Highly recommend!

5🌟 for Hmy 12.9" iPad Pro with and extra heavy duty OTTERBOX case!
THIS REVIEW IS ESPECIALLY FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE A 12.9" IPAD PRO (or similar size tablet):After spending a fair amount of time spent noodling around Amazon, I really didn't think I could find a gooseneck stand which could solidly hold my 12.9" iPad Pro WITH the heavy duty OTTERBOX CASE on it, but this one does -- AND at a very affordable price!I'm a klutz due to arthritis in my hands & my grandkids are, well, normal 4 & 6 year olds -- so that case needs to be on 100% of the time. It would be safe enough from us if it was in the stand without the case, but the case is a real PITA to take off & put back on. Plus, when my hands are really stiff and hurting, I can't even do that myself. I have to get my husband or someone else with fairly strong hands to take off or put on the case. Unfortunately, most of this style of stand seemed to have in mind only holding the devices of various sizes without any case at all, or a best, with a thin case that only provides minimal protection.IF YOU HAVE A 12.9" IPAD PRO: You should also know that the adjustable bracket which holds onto devices of various sizes can ONLY hold the 12.9" iPad Pro in LANDSCAPE position (long side parallel to the floor) ... which might be an issue for some, though not for me.I've been using this stand for about a month, and the springy mechanism which enables the bracket to adjust to various size & holds onto your device, does NOT seem like it's gotten any looser or become stretched out --even though my 12.9" iPad Pro in its heavy duty case is definitely at its maximum width ... which was something Id worried might happen. The bracket has had no problems adjusting as I regularly switch back and forth between my iPhone and 12.9" iPad Pro -- both in OTTERBOX cases. It still holds both devices in the position I set them at, just as firmly as when I first put it together -- even though it spends much of its time being stretched to the max holding my tablet overnights and much of each day.The stand was easy to assemble & looks nice. But, most of all, it does the job of holding my ipad in its heavy case ... AND costs $30-60 less than the very few other stands I found with that capability. I'm seriously considering getting a second one to use in my bedroom.ALSO, BE AWARE -- IF YOU HAVE A **BIG** TABLET, especially if it's IN A HEAVY CASE: The stand can TIP OVER. I really wish that the base of this stand was a bit heavier -- as it will tip over if gooseneck is stretched out anywhere close to max extension away from the center pole, AND you load it up with the above ipad and case hanging way out there at the end.Fortunately for me, when this happened to me, I was sitting in a recliner, testing out different placements for the base (with the gooseneck holding onto my ipad & case at the end), and when the stand started to tip, the tablet just tipped into my lap. If that had not been the case, and the whole thing went crashing onto the floor, I might be more upset. For now, I am just careful extra whenever I re-position my iPad anywhere that's out very far from the center post... at least until I figure out something (that's not too ugly) to add weight to the base.ANOTHER ISSUE TO NOTE FOR THOSE WITH 12.9" IPAD PROs OR SIMILAR SIZE TABLET: The bracket can only keep my ipad screen firmly in position if I set it so that the top edge of the screen is tilted slightly back towards the center pole (so the bottom edge of the ipad screen is slightly farther away from center pole of the stand than the top edge)... If you try to put it perfectly vertical, or tilted downwards, the weight of the ipad & case makes it flip downward, but not firmly so.In contrast, the bracket can hold my iPhone XS Max (also in an Otterbox case) in whatever position I place it... whether I've it down low & tilted all the way back, or with the goose neck stretched up tall and the screen of my phone tilted downward. It would be nice if the gooseneck portion was longer -- but that's certainly not a necessity.I suspect some may think the gooseneck portion is too stiff when your trying with your device in the bracket) is totally worth the payoff that lasts the entire time you are NOT re-positioning it:Whether you're talking a phone (in my case, an iPhone XS Max, also in a slightly less heavy duty Otterbox case) or my monster iPad Pro (in its extra heavy duty Otterbox case) that I can tap away on the screen without needing to put my other hand underneath to steady it. That's very important to me because (a) having to reach up to steady the device sort of defeats the whole purpose of having this stand in the first place, and (b) I've tried other stands where a looser goose neck meant either it gradually losing its shape and moving the device to a totally different placement -- or, the device bobbed up and down so much when I typed on it (one hand), that I end up with motion sickness and/or a headache.SUMMARY: Despite a few flaws/limitations, I am very satisfied with my purchase -- satisfied enough that I'm seriously considering buying a second one. The fact that it can handle my 12.9" iPad Pro WITH its extra heavy duty case on -- something few stands can do, even at twice the price -- earns it a 5 star rating from me!

Perfect for drumkit practice setup
This is a great product. It's actually pretty heavy duty. While I'm sure it would work for many different uses, if you're a drummer looking for a good tablet holder for practicing, look no further; this is what you're looking for. The adjustable gooseneck is REALLY solid, and not the type of construction that will break easily. It's also extremely adjustable, allowing you to set it up behind your kit, and have it peeking over your kit within arms reach so you can click etc..... as needed. The base is heavy (~10 lb), so this thing is not moving anywhere once setup.

Depends on your use
I have bought multiples, for myself and relatives, especially for uses while in a recliner or bed. It does the job we need.AND YET....The hardest part is getting it in the optimal angle and position for your use while also having it easy to be out of way when you get out of the chair. It becomes a work in progress. If you are fussy on how or where you want it to be positioned, you'll be playing with it a lot.AND THERE ARE PRAGMATIC TRADE OFFS.SUCH AS: if the angle arm was really easy to flex and move, it would not be very stable. But to be stiff enough, it is really hard to move and twist. Don't plan on having multiple bends in the flex arm.ANOTHER: it holds the phone or tablet in a very tight grip. It is stiff to put in and not a quick or easy release. It takes two hands, well, for me, anyway. However, if it didn't do that, your expensive phone or pad or kindle would easily come loose and crash on the floor.PLUS: Any stand, whether sitting on desk or floor, is going to vibrate a bit every time you touch your device. Good for holding during a video call or watching program streaming, or putting your screen in position for distraction viewing while you ride an exercycle. It's bit more difficult if you are reading articles and scrolling down a page, with a few seconds of vibration every time you touch your device. Typing on screen? Forget it.WHAT I WISH IT HAD: A ratchet or rotator in the base that would allow you to turn the arm without moving the base. You can turn the upper section by loosening the knob that raises or lowers the height of the stiff bars, or turn the entire structure by lifting it off the floor and moving the whole shebang. If you try to turn it without doing either of those, you are unscrewing the main tube from the base or disconnecting the straight tubes from the upper arm.As said a the top, it does the job, is solid and best of all floor stands I have looked at. And I never found one that has an arm rotator.

Excellent angles and LONG sturdy gooseneck!! 10/10
Excellent stand with long gooseneck. I purchased this stand after my other kindle stand wasn’t long enough to reach the middle of my light of sight when sitting in a “Big and Tall” sized recliner. This new stand with the gooseneck is excellent. Holds my kindle at the perfect angle (adjustable!!) and has a long gooseneck that is very sturdy. It is a little hard to move the gooseneck into position but once you muscle it in place, it stays. This is heavy duty for sure. I’m using this for my kindle Paperwhite but I recommended it to sister for her heavy iPad. There’s no way this one is sagging with heavier tablets. Very well made and worth every penny. Highly recommend.
