Bread Proofing Basket

It works. But arrived with rusty nails. So had to clean it and use nail polish to seal the rust spots.

These bannetons are mediocre quality. The seams where 2 pieces of the basket material are glued together are sloppy, the small staples holding the coils together are very prominent, and the material is rough and a little splintery. I haven't used them yet and think they will probably be totally functional, but they're not very well made. I'd say "you get what you pay for," but I have another cheap basket from a different seller (nothing fancy, another made in china budget option) that's a lot nicer.As other reviewers have mentioned, there was a long wait time for this product, but no longer than the original shipping estimate.

This is a great kit for sourdough baking beginners. Bannetons are great, I use them 3-4 times a week, and the bread proofs perfectly. The scoring tool is not that great though, I'd recommend buying a separate one if you really want to, but I use a sharp razor blade or a surgical blade as it is. The results are great and it really work as expected, for a good price. If you are thinking of starting to make sourdough regularly, this is the go to choice.

On May 31st I placed an order that included 2 bread proofing baskets, liner, bowl scrapers, and lame. I paid a total of $25.89 + tax for the order. It just arrived today, August 3rd. I had to send several emails to the seller asking when the products might arrive. No tracking number was provided, I had to email and ask. These items are shipped from China. The date the shipment was created according to the shipping detail was July 17th, weeks after I placed the order. The original product package that I ordered is no longer pictured on Amazon. Now it is just the two bowls for a little over $14.00.The bowl scrapers are small thin pieces of plastic and will not last. Same goes for the lame slicers. There is no way to change out the blade. The thin plastic handle will snap as soon as any pressure is applied. Basically, I'm left with two baskets and liners for $26.Save yourself the hassle and money, order from a reliable vendor that ships from within the US. I'm just going to order replacements from King Arthur rather than go through the extra effort it will take to return these products.

They work really nice. Like any item, check the size you need first. Shipping was slow (biggest caveat). Overall, decent price and a good item.

A must for bread makers. This is a great price.

Towel covers shrink when dried. Otherwise they work great. Let them air dry.
