Nicely finished
Sophronia and her friends have had several encounters with the Picklemen since they became students in Mademoiselle Geraldine's Finishing Academy, that acually theaches its students the art of finishing people. After the last incident concerning the Picklemen ended with Soap being shot Sophronia is not willing to forgive and forget. She knows that they are planing something big and she is determined to figure out what that is and stop them, both as a revenge for Sope and because that is just simply who she is never being able to leave any scheme alone. This is my favourite of the series. It has more action and feels a bit more mature than the previous books. When I first picked up this series I found out that it is probably ment for younger readers than I thought going in expecting a bad-ass assasin school, but if you just take it for what it is then it's still a fun and fast read. This last book also ties everything up nicely and leaves no threads loose.

A wonderful Conclusion
Manners and Mutiny is the fourth and final book in the Finishing School Series. This world is a blend of paranormal, steampunk, and some romance. I love this world so much! It’s like someone sat down and took everything that I love and put it all together. Sophronia has now been at Mademoiselle Geraldine’s Finishing School for Girls of Quality for a little while. This is a wonderful conclusion novel for this series. I have to say that I want so much more about these characters, because I have fell in love with them all. I really hope that we will be getting more stories about these characters in the future. Yes some of them appear in the other series. I have to say that this is the most action packed book in this series and I found myself not wanting to put it down. I loved how things wrapped up and the character still grow and you found out some back story you did not know before. Gail makes her characters feel real, they express real feelings and emotions as a real person would feel. Due to the events from the previous books are now a lovely trio are still dealing with those outcomes. I love when an author is able to accomplish this because it makes the characters feel more relatable, and shows that the characters have layers and are not robots. I found myself rooting for them and laughing at some of the scenes. All in all these books always make me feel better after reading them.I am sorry there is not much I can say about the plot without taking the chance of spoiling things. So I am going to leave you with a few quotes.“A girl wearing a wicker chicken and playing the harp bopped me with a book about buns and then stuffed me under a piano.”“We’re a team like tea and milk, or cake and custard, or pork and apple.”“Sophronia felt bound to object. “I, for one, should prefer not to shoot at someone I like.”“Admirable scruples, Miss Temminnick. Get over them. For you will do it anyway.”“Please don’t. When you think about things, Sophronia, they only get more complicated. This thing between us could be so very easy, if you let it.”

Fun & Quirky!
Gail Carriger brings the Finishing School series to a finish with Manners & Mutiny and I must say, things do go out with a bang! Sophronia has had a time of it all while attending Mademoiselle Geraldine's, but a proper lady knows not to complain as such! While I could never really fully get into this series as a whole, I have enjoyed it on some level! I guess, it's just been too long since I read the first book and even binging the remaining books continued to leave me befuddled as to a few things. Then add in the fact that all these events take part before the Parasol Protectorate series and I'm right about lost! LOL. Though I want to say I can dredge up some inklings of the first series Gail wrote and the connection to this one. As we've seen a few characters and then the epilogue here gives even more headway into that series. The year is winding down and as the girls come back after the holidays to reign in the new year with their fellow classmates, quite the disaster occurs and everyone must leave the floating school, everyone except for Sophronia of course! Sophronia is determined to uncover who is attacking the school and basically stop them, using all the skills she's learned as of late. This series is definitely fun and quirky, you could say! Sophronia is a fun heroine and her friends are just as amusing and entertaining! Even as the series wraps itself up we learn a few shocking revelations about them. Then there's that ever present YA love triangle. Truly, it's a love-hate relationship with those. It all depends on the execution of it for it to work for me. This one was a bit muddy. Sophronia has feelings for Soap, the lowly sootie, but who's now a newly made werewolf when she bargained the last time around to save his life. It's not just his race that stands between them in having a public relationship, though sadly, it does factor in when you consider the time in society, but there's still a handful of other things as well. Then there's Felix who claims to care for Sophronia and yet, he betrayed her and her friends last time around as well. He was never able to stand up for himself and leech away from his father. And yet, we learn a thing or two about him. What kind of drove me bonkers was that Sophronia never really seemed to have a choice in mind. She clearly was driven away from Felix after his betrayal, yet I never got that she cared for Soap than more than just a friend. She constantly tells herself she doesn't feel anything for him...I don't know. Maybe it was how I read it, she had no conflicting feelings when she said such things to herself, so I just didn't get that "I love Soap" vibes. Though we already know she does care for him in a sense, he's been her friend since the very beginning after all.The series ends rather well. There was just one character whose fate was left untold...Sophronia goes on in the afterword that tells us pretty much where all her friends left off, except one. And I felt disappointed by that. But what can you do? Otherwise, I felt like things wrapped up nicely. And I feel confident in my assumption, we do see her briefly in the Parasol Protectorate series, as there was mention of her next assignment just towards the end of the book. The Finishing School series was a fun and enjoyable read! I can't wait to read more from Gail Carriger, as it stands I still need to read Prudence and I am so looking forward to that one too!Overall Rating 4/5 stars

It is a lot of fun to read
It was very fun to read. The whole series presents a very interesting world. I was very curious when I bought the first book in an airport, to kill the time during a long flight. I am very glad I did, couldn't stop reading until it was over, and then I had to get the rest of the books.I don't want to spoil the plot here, but I can say the intrigue and misteries are very well presented, and I had a few surprises, kinda felt like when I read Agatha Christie as a child. If you are considering reading this, try it. It can surprise you. I will place it in my detective books list of favorites. Will be reading the series again. And getting more of the author as well.

Final Book in The Series- you know you must
What a finale. The stakes are really high in this one! Some foes grow more brazen in their plans, some turn out to not be so bad, some friends turn out to be more than that you thought.Very much a coming of age and into yourself story, with some murder and explosions, and a serious anti-government plot. You really want to get to this one, so make sure to read them all.

This has been one of my favourite series I've read in a long time
This has been one of my favourite series I've read in a long time. Whilst I enjoyed the parasol protectorate series, these books just always felt like they had a bit more emotional depth, whilst keeping with Carriger's trademark style and love of ridiculous names. If you've read the others, this final book is an incredibly satisfying end to the series. If you haven't, go and start at the beginning.I also bought the audiobook version, and highly recommend it - I've never been less annoyed getting stuck in traffic jams!

Amazing
A brilliant end to the series that had so many twists, turns and secrets revealed that it was a tenterhooks book throughout. I was suckered into the one more page problem till i was 80% of the way through and realised it was 2am with a 6am wakeup time. The pacing was faster than the others but the action really all comes to a head and there will be some shocks you were not expecting. Great end to an amazing series.

I love everything Ms Carriger writes
I love everything Ms Carriger writes. This is the final book in the series. A steampunk world of female spies who spend their time trying to save the world while learning how to make their own poisons, fight vampires and perform the perfect curtsie. Full of humour. Ms Carriger has generated some beautifully crafted female characters that you instantly warm to (or instantly dislike) and a world that is historically rooted in our past, but that has a fresh twist.

The Finishing School Series Finishes with Flair.
I awaited this, the last book of the series, with great anticipation - and it definitely didn't let me down.Written with Ms Carriger's unmistakable light, but deft, touch it was a real pleasure to see the young ladies in their final year at Geraldine's - and see relationships resolved, or in some cases uncovered, and their training come to fruition. The only downside is that there will be no more about The Great Flying Finishing School.
