Amazon Music Ultra HD 24/192 out of Android Phone
Bought this as a way to get 24/192 bitrate music out of my MacBook Pro, with the option to utilize either the analog or digital optical output. Analog works fine and sounds very good. Some quibble over the quality of DACs and their sound. I have always found that the differences in DAC sound quality are minor, and yes, I do have all sorts of high end headphones, headphone amps, speakers, tube preamps and tube amps of old and current vintage. Kef LS50, Stax headphones, Audeze headphones, Kef 104/2 speakers, Conrad Johnson tube preamps, Audio Research tube amps, and the list goes on and one. So I know a thing or two about high end audio. This piece of equipment does what it is supposed to do. You can have high quality analog sound output to headphones or a preamp from a computer, or you can route optical digital to an external DAC, receiver, etc. I have routed it via optical digital cable and it does output 24/192 over a good optical digital cable. This is where I am baffled and surprised. On a whim I tried it out of my Oneplus 8T Android phone. Android by nature limits bit rate and sampling rate to 24bit, 48khz unless you implement some workaround software and use either Tidal or Qobuz. I am using Amazon Music HD. Amazon Music is very good about telling the user what the bit and sampling rates are at any moment in time. I have used a Fiio BTR5 that supports 24/192 and can only get it up to 24/48 out of the phone via USB-C. For whatever reason, this device, the Reiyin DA-03, is playing at 24/192 directly out of my Android phone. I am shocked by that and had no idea it was even possible based on the limitations imposed by Android. If for no other reason, this is a tremendous bargain.I will test further by running an optical out of this into a DAC that is capable of 24/192 and will display its sampling rate.Three cheers to Reiyin.

Bought 2 , Fau wires to unit. Only lasted 2 or 3 days
I liked that they worked well for the 3 days. Didn't like that the 2 I bought broke around the3 day mark

Works perfectly with my soundbar, but it lacks main volume control
This adapter work fine without a glitch or any delays. The only thing that doesn't work at all is the main volume control in Windows. This is not a driver issue, it is as it is, main volume cannot be controlled, it's always on 100%. I have to adjust the volume manually on my soundbar, or individually adjust the volume in each app or game - this is not an issue for me, and I got used to it already. Also compressed 5.1 such as Windows Sonic and DTS:X work fine with this adapter. The reason I needed this adapter is because I have a PC with analog out only (Asus X570-i). However my soundbar LG SL8YG has no analog-in, it has only optical-in and one dmi-in. I tried several options, HDMI splitter, HDMI audio-extractor, Analog to Optical adapter, Creative SoundBlaster G3 adapter...none of them worked flawlessly or reliably. This device works fine, optical out connects directly to my soundbar and best of all once sound is played on the PC, it wakes up my soundbar automatically.

More than awesome for the price
I'm using this with my Surface Pro 7. The audio output is only good enough to play though the devices speakers. Once you connect it to quality speakers, you really notice how the sound is lacking. It sounded flat and one dimensional. I plugged this thing in and I am right back to the sound quality I had with my desktop. It really outputs at 192 like it says. If it doesn't do it right away, change it in the sound settings. Amazing for the price. The only thing is I can't adjust the volume level with the system volume control with digital output. I have to adjust the volume with the external amp's volume. That is not the DAC's fault though. I think that is a Windows/system limitation.

It Works...However no volume adjutment - PC
As with the other comments here. I does what it says on the box, sort of. I get sound, but you can not adjust the volume through the PC, which is just very inconvenient.

Does what it is supposed to do
First, this is not a DAC. It does two things. It makes a simple USBC to headphone jack connection, and it converts a digital bitstream to an optical bitstream. I needed this because I have an amplifier with a nice Burr-Brown DAC that needs a driver that has not been updated for the last several Mac operating systems. It formerly was able to accept the digital bitstream from the USB connection on a Mac. However, it now does not work well if I simply connect it to my computer via USBC with appropriate adaptors. Formerly, the headphone jack on many Macs doubled as a mini-optical audio connection, but no more. I am able to plug the Reiyin DA-03 into my USBC port and plug my mini optical cable into the Reiyin device and my amp it provides a perfect digital feed to the DAC in the amp. Apple DACs are actually pretty good as computer DACs go, but there is an audible improvement when I use the Burr-Brown DAC. Of course if the remainder of the audio system is weak, one would not detect a difference. This would probably be particularly useful for an iPad or any other Apple device with only a USBC connector because it would provide a headphone jack or optical output.

Poor sound quality and heavy static.
The sound produced out of these was mediocre at best of times, and they often had heavy static. Often they would just stop playing music and blast painful high pitched squealing through the headphones at maximum volume, causing genuine pain and ringing for a few hours. I do not know if the one I received was defective, but I genuinely cannot recommend this product.

Works with new iMacs and digital speakers!
When I bought the 2021 iMac, I was annoyed to find out I could no longer plug the optical cable (with 3.5 miniplug) from my old speakers into the headphone slot on my new computer. The Geeks at Best Buy couldn't help me, and neither could the Geniuses at the Apple store, Google search, various tech blogs or Amazon customer comments. I thought I was going to have to spend $350 to replace my classic Logitech Z-5500 5.1 digital surround sound speaker system until I finally found this $26 adapter that plugs into the USB-C port on the back of the new iMac. And that's all you have to do, plug and play. OK, so I had to go into the sound settings on the iMac to select the new audio output, but that was it. Problem solved.
