Reptispa Desert Terrarium 10.0 UVB 26 Watts Compact Fluorescent Lamp

## UPDATE## the bulb just blew out so it lasted about a year. As far as I'm concerned that's pretty good for a bulb and I plan to order another.I purchased this bulb for my two Peninsula Cooter Turtles simply because of how reasonable the price is. As we all know UVB bulbs can be quite pricey and expensive and be made very cheaply. I was greatly surprised when this came in the mail the packaging was very good and professional, the bulb seems to be made out of very good materials and is a little larger than I expected it would be. I put it into my reptile lamp above my turtles basking dock. Immediately my Turtles went up the ramp and began to bask . It is still working good and they seem to enjoy it and for the price I am very pleasantly surprised. it is also good to see that the paper that comes in the Box says it has a limited warranty for a year if it is to blow out that I can contact the company and get a replacement which is always nice, I will definitely be buying again in the future.the only problem that I had with this light is that I use a mini reptile lamp the black small kind and the bulb is longer than the actual lamps by about a couple centimeters so I had to cut a small hole in the top of my basking platform so that the bulbs could stick through since it is passed the lamp itself. something to think about if you use the mini lamp like I do but if the lamp is hanging it shouldn't be a problem.

Not entirely sure how to rate for the following reason:So I ordered two because I have a uromastyx that needed it and I was getting a bearded dragon shortly after who too needed uv light. The first one that I put on my uro tank has been up well around a month and has been brilliant. He's thriving and I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever.The problem I have is with the second one. I put it in the light fixture and put the light up not really thinking too much of it. Left the room for a snack and came back and smelled burning, but that usually happens when I start up a new fixture. Didn't think anything of it. The thing was on MAYBE 20 minutes total before I had to move it to rearrange lights on six of my tanks. Did the usual; unplugged, moved to the floor, and in this particular instance the bulbs were removed to switch into a smaller fixture as they're only 26 watts. WELL, I took both UVB bulbs out and laid them next to each other and the NEW one looks 6 months old if not older and it's extremely hot, even 15 minutes after removal. Pictures of them side by side show the older one (white) next to the new one (browning)I'm extremely grateful I took it out and got to see it as it was over a very new, very expensive silkback bearded dragon because looking at other reviews, this bulb has a tendency to blow and that's the last thing I want. But yeah... not entirely sure how to rate it because one is great and the other is less than.

The first bulb I ordered blew out within 2 days (only being on for a couple hours each day). A replacement WAS sent, however, this one last only about a month before blowing out as well. I DO NOT recommend this as a reliable light source. The seller was great, but now I am out of a return policy date, so seems I am out of luck.

Twice with this specific bulb I have had charring around the base and most recently it burst sending glass into my bearded dragons terrarium...I have not had this issue with any other bulb and it is a high end dome hood and fixture

The light flickers and makes electric noises I wish I could replace it bit refund seems to be only option and all I want is a replacement

All bulbs I've bought don't last long until I started turning them off and only running them 4 hours then one hour off then off at night.
