hard to put in

Did the trick
This element has to be restrung on the supporting frame and ceramic. Not that hard, but take pictures of the old one before you start. For our Maytag, with the upper drying cabinet, a pre-strung replacement is not available. This is the element for the tumble dryer drum section. The upper cabinet has a separate element. It was hard to get at this, you have to remove the drum, and the assembly is in the back, left side (as you're facing the dryer) corner. PITA, but we got it fixed.
