Heroic Trip of Self Revelation
I liked this book immensely - so much that I have already bought 4 copies. 1 for myself & 3 as presents for friends.Christopher Gray started off as a revolutionary - he was one of the English Situationists in the 60s & translated a number of the key texts of the French Situationists which he collected in his book Leaving The Twentieth Century. He led a group of Father Christmases into Harrods where they gave away the toys in the toy department as presents to the children there.Later on he became a disciple of Osho, an Indian guru, but left his ashram before it relocated to the USA. Osho was deported from the USA after his followers poisoned the local population who objected to the ashram using agricultural land to built a town, & to his collection of 93 Rolls Royces. After Osho died, Chris Gray wrote his biography. The Acid Diaries circulated privately under a pen name before finding a publisher. When his child was a teenager, he & his partner separated, & he was diagnosed with Hep C. He felt that he had little left to look forward to, & that his youthful dreams of changing society had come to nothing. With great courage, he decided on a course of self-therapy based on the ideas of the Czech psychiatrist Dr Stanislav Grof & using LSD every 2 or 3 weeks..This book is the record of that voyage of self-discovery. It is an honest look at the ups AND the downs of his 3 year experience/experiment. It doesn't try to gloss over the scary moments. I found it enthralling. The author died a few years later in 2009.

Good and bad. Entertaining
The book was entertaining if you have the maturity to not allow the non-duality thinking take root. It pushes Zen and other eastern religion way too much but other than that is an entertaining read on a substance that should be receiving MUCH more study and that people should have access to. I'm glad I read it but as I said, guard your heart. I would recommend further reading. Another good book (so far), I am reading it now is- Acid Dreams: The Complete Social History of LSD: The CIA, The Sixties, and Beyond. by Martin A. Lee and Bruce Shlain. I have several other books in my Kindle on the subject. If you came of age in or around 1970, you will probably relate to much of the experiences in The Acid Diaries, though I never heard of shaking legs. Most of the other stuff, I understand though I may interpret it a little differently. Still, I am glad I read it.

A blast from the past into the present moment
Enjoyable to read, and if you have experienced the 1970's or had any contact with LSD you will find a like minded personality in these pages. If you are new to the whole subject, chances are you will get a clear picture of something special and unique about the human condition and the powers of perception. It is quite a wonderful story about one person's solo journey into joy, fear, and understanding of them self and the world we all live in.Writen in an easy to read style expressing something very personal about the author and to the reader.

Don't bother with this
I would not recommend this book to anyone considering a psychedelic experience.Full of bad trips and his own heavy baggage.Read other books, be with someone you love and be in nature. If you're working on personal issues make sure you work with a reputable guide.Check out Jim Fadiman's book.

Going all the way to the other side of the same coin!
It goes in other directions than other books by Leary and other explorers from the daylight of LSD and Huxyleys' Doors of perception.Of course this is more contemporary. The story he tells is vivid and goes deep. But I advise reading the other Explores first.Buy the way Aldous Huxley was writing of his experience with Mescaline. I advise reading all of these Explorers. One can't learn too muchIf you decide to go In and Out please do so with a guide who can explain what is happening to you as it is quite possible your complete thoughts of Reality will change completely. Enjoy finding out who you are! b n. .ecause this vid and alive. He is well infomed and a True Explorer. But I suggest starting earlier..By the way.Huxley wrote about another hallucinogen...Mescaline.This reviewer suggests using both of these Truth Revealers but.please. use an experienced guide who can help you in many ways. Be smart becau
