for Raspberry Pi 4 Touch Screen with Case, 3.5 inch Touchscreen with Fan, 320x480 Monitor TFT LCD Game Display

This little display is pretty impressive. Touch functions work great. You can drive your RPi 4 with the little stylus that is included in the kit. I had no issues installing the hardware or adding the drivers using the instructions on the Amazon product page for this little case/display combo. I'll be honest, unless you have a specific project in mind for this, like making a wee-television for LEGO people, or using it for a control box with touch screen for something else I'm not sure what real applications this would fill that you could not do with other devices like tablets. Having said that... it's incredibly fun and the fact that the display supports rotation at the HARDWARE level (meaning mounted physically upside down) you can see the power-on/boot messages correctly is VERY impressive. As you can see from my photo, I have power connected at the top and the display is oriented properly. Simply use the rotate.sh command in the /home/pi/LCD-show directory and it reboots with the orientation you choose and remembers it. Very cool attention to detail in my opinion. This function is specific to this display where you'd normally use a rotate command in your /boot/config.txt file, but doing that does NOT get you rotated text when booting up from power-off. In any event, this seems like a neat little device. The RPi runs pretty warm with this screen, even with the fan and heat sinks, so I'd probably say over-clocking your RPi 4 might not be the best idea.Update: 05/07/2020 - After reading some other reviews, I thought I'd also mention that the screen resolution is not ideal in certain applications. I had some issues with things like browsers getting clipped off-screen and had to do a little additional work to move the window so I could get at certain buttons for certain windows. I'm sure there are ways around that, but for a casual user it might be frustrating. Aside from that.. it's still humming along.

Easy to install, Software driver worked as expected. Python PIL works well to send graphics for my application. I withheld a star because it doesn't have a dimmer (brightness) control and the fan is a bit loud.

It's not extremely responsive and there is no place to store the stylus but it does what its suppose to. Its super easy to install and they include the necessary code to get it working. Its definitely small and can be difficult to use at times because of its size but no complaints on form or function

This product looks great for an out of the way mini PC, it's compact and even comes with a stylus, the biggest issue I found is programming this screen is impossible, the drivers needed are only updated to Ubuntu 20.04 (it is 22.06 currently I believe) and even installing the older version of Ubuntu leads to the same error message that the drivers don't exist, the only 2 other issues I found with this product are: first if you try to install your RPI4 with a micro SD card inserted the micro SD WILL BREAK it snapped my brand new 32 gb SanDisk extreme pro.. luckily I had a 16 gb SanDisk ultra that works fine but this could end anyone's endeavor of building this PC and not knowing this. Secondly, the unit is simply too small, I had it on and running off an HDMI out for less than 45 minutes and it was already quite warm to the touch, don't get this, it's not worth it, don't waste your money and potentially destroy your board.Instead grab the official 7" RPI4 touchscreen/housing on vilros for $89.99 (USD)it works much better there is no programming required unless you need to rotate your screen and even then it's only one line that is present in every Linux system, if you're in need of a smaller screen size and aren't too worried about overheating then try and find a screen you won't have to program or that has extensive coverage on the topic on YouTube/manufacturer webpage.That all being said if you need just housing for the pi 4 then this product will work sufficient enough, the screen is not a requirement to use the housing.
