Dual Digital Fahrenheit LED Display Thermometer K-Type Thermocouple High Temperature Tester

I bought this product to use in a battery powered thermoelectric ice chest (Peltier cooler basically). I want to be able to monitor ambient temp versus temp in the cooler to see how much the outside temp effects the temp inside the cooler. Pics are pretty self explanatory. I’m very impressed with the quality of the thermocouple. Device can be easily powered from an 18650 battery for many many days. Current draw is extremely low (can’t measure it accurately on my crappy multimeter). All in all it seems like it will work in my project very well! The price is right and the blue/red display looks really good.

Does not work as described. First, the "internal" temperature (red display) is about 5 deg. F off to the upside, which puts it way beyond the 0.1 deg. F accuracy stated by the seller for that temperature range. There are no means of correcting that offset. Second, the K-type thermocouple probe has an intermittent connection somewhere inside it, so the reading is all over the place. With a working K-type probe the temperature displayed properly on the blue display. Seller did not provide any meaningful help. Returning it.

I'm using this to track the temperature of my engine compartment in my van. Having the cabin temperature is an extra benefit! Would have loved a longer cord though.

once i get over 100 the temp if off about 30 degrees actual temp was 178 but was reading 146

Works great to monitor temp roasting coffee in in bread machine coffee roaster

I bought two of them. They are both quite a few degrees off. Very disappointed.

Connected to 12V battery. Worked fine for 3 days, now dead, no display, battery is fine.
