that tofu thing - Tofu Press - Get More Out of Your Tofu with The Most Efficient Tofu Press

I was a bit sceptical about how different tofu would taste when using a tofu press. Well I have to say it's amazingly different. The texture is great, it crisps up when you cook it, but most importantly it takes on flavours wonderfully. A fabulous little gadget, simple, well-designed and very easy to use and easy to clean. I can't believe the amount of liquid that comes out of a block of tofu! Even my husband who normally gurns if I say we're having tofu is impressed and the gurning has stopped ;) ! Highly recommend this gadget, especially if you are veggie or vegan, it will elevate the taste of your cooking significantly. So pleased I eventually bought this, after ages of dithering.

As a Tofu press, from the pictures, this just looked like it would be good. It arrives well packaged and looks to be extremely well designed and, so far, it's worked like a dream. Absolutely cannot fault it. It's sturdy, well made, easy to use and does the job well. I particularly like that you can stand it up in a bowl, to collect the liquid. It's easy to clean and even comes with its own storage bag. So, overall, I think it's a great product. I've never used a tofu press before but having read the reviews for other types I took the plunge and ordered this one. Well made and strong it was easy to assemble around the tofu block. 10 minutes later and I had perfectly pressed tofu which took up my teriyaki marinade very well. I love the little cotton bag it came with as this makes it easy to store all the pieces together. The tofu press was very easy to clean and I think I will be using this very often.

This does drain tofu well and I have used it quite a bit. I am gentle with it as I’m not sure how long the twisting part will last as the plastic seems a bit brittle. However, I have had it for probably a year so hopefully it’ll be more durable than I suspected.

I previously had a different tofu press where the tofu goes in a white plastic box then a green plastic lid is put on top with thick elastic either side that is fastened to the box. It worked well but I worried for the long term effectiveness as the elastic became slacker over time. I never got to find out if it continued to work well as it was dropped and broken my someone who shall go unnamed! Subsequently, I hunted for another tofu press. I came across this and, though it is more expensive than others, it looks like it'll last.I've had it for over six months and use it regularly. It works very well and fits a 400g block of Cauldron tofu perfectly. Sometimes I leave tofu pressing over night but I've found with this that, even 15 minutes, is effective. It has little feet (technical term?!) so it can be stood up in the sink while draining. It can also be laid flat if you want to leave tofu pressing in the fridge overnight. The press itself is solid and feels like it will last a very long time.I've never had any tofu split and crack even though I nearly always apply all the pressure at once rather than patiently apply it bit by bit!I highly recommend this and am glad I bought it rather than replacing the one I previously had.

I’m new to pressing tofu (I never knew!) so this has been a bit of a revelation! This is a brilliant piece of kit and does the job effectively with complete control over how much water is squeezed out. The plastic and screw mechanism feel strong and sturdy and all pieces are easily cleaned. I love the extra thought of the drawstring bag to keep the pieces together. Worth every penny to know this has been designed from a place of passion and manufactured in the UK as a small start up business. I can not recommend highly enough.

Great little tofu press. Easy to use & perfect for the task. Feels very robust. Arrived as expected & well packaged.If I cd improve it in any way I’d add a tray that it could click into, to catch the juices. But this is a small point & standing in a dish works well enough. I’d completely recommend this item.

I really like the idea of this tofu press and it worked very well, however after a couple of uses the bottom part of the press broke, meaning it just spins and no longer presses down firmly.
