GAID Mac Charger Replacement for MacBook Pro Charger 60W Magsafe1 Power Adapter, Compatible With MacBook Pro 13 inch (2009-Mid 2012)

I've used this for about 3 days now and so far it's working fine. I needed an extra to keep in my computer bag, but hated to spend $70 on the OEM one. This has worked great at about 1/4 the price. The pack gets a little warm, but nothing that concerns me. It's also not quite as sleek looking as the OEM one, and the cables aren't as "soft and rubbery" feeling as the apple one. I also think it's a little shorter than the OEM one, but haven't compared the 2 side by side. But for such a good price I was fine with it. I'll update this review in a few weeks/months if anything changes.UPDATE: After 6 months of use this charger is still working perfectly. No complaints at all!

I bought this macbook charger 8 months ago. I was doubting it when i bought it because i know its china made... and might damage my computer but read the good reviews and took a chance.I'm glad i did it works well and has been working for 8 months perfectly for me, with little signs of wear and tear. I do use a SURGE PROTECTOR (just for the extra safety precaution). I would go and buy another one from here if this one gives out. Usually macbook chargers last me about 12 months... this one is going on 8 months. Not bad at all, a definite repurchase. :)I would recommend this purchase as long as you recognize that it might potentially damage your computer...but so far, i've had no issues whatsoever. But once again, I use a surge protector as a precaution.

My original 2012 MacBook pro’s charger died and as a result my laptop has completely died. I purchased GAID charger, checking to make sure the item was compatible with my item and it does not work right out of the box. It connects to my computer just fine and the green light comes on, however, it never switched to the orange charging light and after 3+ hours, an attempt at resetting the SMC (which I assume doesn’t work because my laptop is totally drained) the green light is still on and my Mac is dead. I’ll try a few more troubleshooting options if I can find them otherwise this thing is going back.

I've had this charger for about a week so far, and so far it's working well with my late-2009 White Unibody MacBook. It does what it needs to do for much less than an authentic Apple charger. My MacBook is nearing the end of its ability to be useful as my daily-use computer, so I didn't want to break the bank on this purchase.I knew going in what it looked like and how much it cost, so it probably should actually get a full five stars, but I have found some of its features annoying to actually use, so four stars it is. First up is that, as others have noted, the magnet in the plug is fairly weak compared to the Apple version. I find myself knocking it out fairly easily. Second is the form. I don't like that it's so long. It would be great if there were also an adapter that was just prongs to plug into the brick, rather than a cord; it just takes up more space than I'd like in my backpack. Finally, the little green LED is kind of annoying. It's too dim to see except at the perfect angle.All in all, however, I wish I had tried one of these out sooner, as I got less than 2 years out of each authentic Apple charger, and I could have bought six of these for the price of one of those.

This was purchased after my OEM Apple charger died. I've read and heard about the horror stories from cheap, budget non-OEM chargers but really couldn't justify paying $60-80 for a new charger- especially as I am planning to upgrade to the new style magsafe chargers within the next 6 months. For this price, I figured why not, worse case I'll return back to Amazon and be on my merry way. The charger arrived in simple packaging but was clearly new. The overall length is significantly shorter than the Apple chargers, however this would not be a problem for me as I dock my Macbook Pro. It's been just about 3-months of daily use- albeit in a stationary setup, with zero issues. Charge is consistent with no noticeable difference in charging time. For just under $15, this is a win... I look forward to much more usage, but honestly wouldn't be too upset if it clocked out soon. Would buy again.

I bought my MacBook used. The Apple power adapter was not included, and the original battery was dead. I bought a new aftermarket battery and this charger from Amazon. Delivery was quick. In use, this charger gives every indication that it is working fine. When the MacBook battery is run way down, this charger gets warm to the touch, but cools down as soon as the battery has fully recharged. The indicator lights work as intended, and charge times are very reasonable and in line with what I would expect. For 1/6th what I would have paid for an Apple power adapter I am satisfied with this purchase. I'm so impressed with this MacBook, I look forward to purchasing a new MacBook Pro early next year.

It works, it gets really really hot but...I've had no problems as of yet. I'm using it right now, so, it works just fine. It looks different from every other mac adapter I've ever had (I have a 2011 Mac Pro 13 inch), but adapter aesthetic has never been a major concern of mine. The price is so great, considering how often you burn through these damn things...or is that just me? Plus, the prime shipping. I mean, honestly, saved my sanity 2k15. I'll totally buy this again when I inevitably burn through this one. Plus, you know, the heat doubles as a heating pad ((I totally don't recommend doing that)).

Works but if my Mac is completely dead (my daughter uses it), then it will not charge. The only time this charger works is if the Mac is partially charged which is not very helpful. The green light always comes on, even though in some instances it is not really charging. My Mac is older so I’m just going to suck it up and get one from Apple. Hopefully you won’t have the same issue.
