You must use a programmer / converter to upload your program.

I got 2 and they work with no problem. You have to use a converter to program it since it has no onboard serial usb chip. I used the HiLetgo CP2102 USB 2.0 to TTL Module Serial Converter Adapter Module USB to TTL Downloader With Jumper Wires

I could never get it working

no matter what cord I used or the connecting the ground to GPIO1 pin. I changed for 3.3v to 5v and vise versa still no luck. Got frustrated and purchased a new one from another seller, worked first attempt. I was outside the return window so I just figured why bother contacting the seller so maybe just the one I got was a dud.
