Toolman Electric Jig Saw 3.6A For Heavy Duty carpentry, sawing and cutting jobs LT5502

This jig saw seems like a nice tool, but I have NO idea how to get a saw blade to STAY in the spindle. The instructions for blade installation refer to a hex socket head screw, being loosened, and then tightened after a blade is installed.The spindle has a twist collar that would seem to be an un-locking and locking collar, and the ONLY hex head allen screws I can see are the 2 that control positioning of the tilt plate. Thus, the instructions about "loosening the hex socket head bolts", and then "tighten the hex socket head bolts" make NO sense. What can loosening/tightening of the screws that control the tilt plate have to do with getting a saw blade into or out of the spindle?!When you twist that collar, it allows a blade to be slid up into the spindle, which can't be done while the collar is sitting in it's normal position; but, once you've inserted a blade, and then allowed the collar to return to it's rest position, the blade flies out within a second of powering up the saw.So, it appears that the instructions are incorrect, and it also ISN'T apparent, just what needs to be done to getg a saw blade to stay in place.The Amazon site stated that T and U blades were the correct type for this saw, and I bought a pack of blades with 'U' shafts, so that should mean they should work.But, I had no luck at all. Seems like a nice solid little saw for $40, but if it won't hold a saw blade, it'll have to go back. The MAIN reason I buy stuff from Amazon is that if something's wrong, Amazon does a good job of processing refunds. It would be nice if less things went wrong; but I never worry about that because they've obviously handled so many returns that they've gotten really good at it.Thanks for your expert return service Amazon!

Bought used from Amazon, $22. Said small cosmetic damage (couldn't find any) and damage to package (yes but all contents good). I was a bit reluctant because it had been returned but it turned out to be a great purchase. Other reviews said they had trouble with blade wanting to fall out but I found if bottom plate is seated all the way back and blade is pushed all the way to the bottom of the slot it is very solid and absolutely will not fall out. Saw is a bit heavy at 6 lbs. but that is part of why it runs so smooth.

I really like this little saw, it's pretty powerful and good for the price. My only real complaint is that the blade doesn't attach very securely so if you push it too hard the blade will wiggle loose and detach in the wood. Otherwise this is one of my favorite tools, really powerful and works with most all blades I've found, powerful enough to work with even my metal cutting blade to cut through nails. Very glad I have it 😊

Bought a few months ago. Now that i was going to use found it has no blades. Try to use a blade for another saw and did not work.

Wow first impression was very light weight compared to be very powerful with 6.5 amp!Used this tool to create so many decorative wooden stuff and actually worked really well and easy. I highly recommend this item for home use even for light business use is good.I don’t have any idea why some reviews are negative about this product. The price compare to what you get is excellent .I personally haven’t found any other better jig saw with 6.5 amp better than this and cheaper. Highly recommended

The product is easy to use, the down side is that the blade is not steady. It comes off easy.

There was nothing that I disliked , it’s a bad ass jig saw !

The product performance is fine for a HOMEOWNER DIY. Good product for the price.
