Ocean Prince Gourmet Whole Oysters with Carrots, Onions, Smoked, Mildly Spiced with Red Chili Pepper, 3 Ounce (Pack of 18)

Cans came well packaged and undamaged. Oysters were whole and packed perfect with a red chili 🌶 pepper in the middle. The flavor was very good, smoke spicy flavor with the right amount of oil. Definitely a good buy!UPDATE 01/16/2021, UPC # 0 73230 00156 7 after eating a can after a few hours I felt the symptoms of Norovirus which causes gastroenteritis, with symptoms of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach cramps along with low-grade fever, this is the 2nd can I had in a few weeks and happen the first but milder symptoms. So beware of this UPC number 0 730230 00156 7!

They’re nutritious and satisfying. Good iron level. Not so thick but there are more oysters lately because they’re smaller. I’m happy either way. I’ve reordered many times. The pepper influence to taste really works out well.

Update: I'm almost finished with my second case of these and changed my rating from 5 stars to 4. Every can in this case just tastes like oysters in oil. They don't taste smoked and they have the red pepper in the can but cannot taste it at all nor is there any spice at all. I have been eating them with hot sauce to make up for it. Still the size and overall quality is quite good especially for the price.I have an unhealthy obsession with smoked oysters. I could eat them all day every day. I was a little hesitant to try these based on the bad reviews but for the price I figured it was worth a shot since in the store I'd be paying $3 a can on sale. I was not disappointed! Quality and flavor is great. I did find one small piece of shell in one can but to me it wasn't a deal breaker, if anything it was a good thing because it forced me to slow down when I'm eating these haha

I'm a huge fan of crown prince oysters, this style not so much. With the onions and carrots, I expected the oysters to pick up some of that flavoring, they fell short. Their smoked oysters in the red box has a much better taste and chew.

The quality of the Ocean Prince smoked oysters is as good as any other brand, whereas the price is much lower. So, what's there not to like? The only thing that I can think of is that it would be nice if these oysters were preserved in olive oil rather than cottonseed oil. After opening a few cans, I can add that the quality and oyster size (large) are consistent.

Muddy/sandy taste and texture. I have never had shell fish tasted so bad. They use chilly to mask the bad taste.....doesn't work too well! The fact it is from China makes me worry about pollution. I regret buying these just to ride out Covid19 lock down. These are only slightly better than the "MW Polar" brand shell fish, but still very bad.

I love the oysters and I get them delivered to my house every other month. They taste delicious and they are great for a keto diet. I hope they will continue to offer them.

As other people have noted, this 'Cocktail' version are not whole oysters. I had bought some cans of the 'Cocktail' version from a local store and they contained about 12 whole oysters. So I bought exactly the same here, but these cans contain about 60 pieces or very tiny oysters. Maybe something has changed in this brand or maybe these are sourced differently. The flavor is good and smokey like my local store product. I'll give these 3 stars.

What it says on the tin. Decent taste and overall good value
